Re: [2012-13] Around the League
I was going to come in here, and talk about the Lakers, but it's too depressing to think about them catching up w/ us, especially when we gift them opportunities like tonight. But there's bunch more stuff happening around the league that could maybe take my mind off negatives of Rockets!
Who you guys got for the awards? I think outside of MVP, there's an argument for a lot of different players.
And MVP is LeBron's again. 27/8/7 on 57% from the field, and a 64% TS. WTF.
I seriously have no idea who the DPOY is. Dwight isn't going to win it, Chandler isn't anchoring a very good Knicks defense. Generally, I'd like to think the DPOY is coming from an elite sort defensive team. Indiana is the best defensive team in the league, but I don't know if Hibbert/George would actually win the award...Memphis has been really good, and Marc Gasol is mad underrated, but I still don't see him winning it. KG is still a monster, but again, he's another guy I don't see winning it.
I think the frontrunner might actually be Noah.
He's the anchor of a top 5 defensive team, averaging 38 MPG, and grabbing 11ish boards, and 2+ blocks (not an indicator, but voters love some basic stats + impact).
MIP has a lot of choices. In fact, Rockets probably have three of the better options. Asik has nearly tripled his stats, Harden has gone from 6th man to a 26-27 PPG scorer that also gets 5 boards, and 5-6 assists. And then Parsons has gone from a 9 PPG scorer to 14-15.
But Vucevic might be the frontrunner...he's been a beast for Orlando. Holiday is another candidate, from an average-ish starting PG to an all-star. Another candidate is definitely Larry Sanders, he's actually a guy I could have mentioned in the DPOY race with his shot blocking and anchoring of a top 10 D. And then there's also Greivis Vasquez, dude has been balling for New Orleans...
Lotta good candidates there. I think one could legitimately argue for any one of em...if I'd have to guess, I'd think Vucevic gets it, but man, the competition is stiff for that one.
ROY is Lillard. I think media has basically decided this.
And Durant will easily end up leading the league in scoring the 4th straight year in a row.

lmao those and that Delfino gif you posted are serious lol.
I've never noticed him doing anything like this before, maybe he lost a bet... or he sees the NBA a way to launch his careering in dancing/professional wrestling/comedy?

Danny Granger, still useful for the Pacers? Should they trade him?

Duncan will win his first DPOY award mostly due to sentimentality.
Harden is still a work-in-progress. He can score, but he can't help his teammate that much - Yao Ming

Oh, you mean like how Kobe won his 1st MVP award in 2008?

Yes, exactly!
Though, Duncan would actually deserve it though!
He leads the NBA in individual DRTG, and the Spurs are the third best defensive team in the league. Though I think a lot of it you have to credit to Poppovich, and the insertion of Splitter into the starting lineup as well (Kawhi is also an impact defender). The main problem with Duncan though is that he doesn't even play 30 MPG. Can he really win DPOY when he's not getting any sort of media traction, and playing such limited minutes? Only two guys have ever won DPOY playing under 30 MPG and that was Dennis Rodman and Michael Cooper.
I don't know, I think that's the weirdest award to vote on this season.

Re: [2012-13] Around the League
Game was on national TV too. Not an all-star.
If not for some stupid TO's by the Warriors in the last minute or two, game could have potentially gone to OT. He woulda had a shot at beating Kobe and Donyell Marshall (I think) record for 3PM in a game. Curry might be literally having the GOAT three point shooting season..
