What's it look like in Practice RE:Bargs
I know everyone is calling for Barg's head (myself included), most of us suppose that he's getting minutes to raise some kind of trade value - which seems pretty moronic at this point as the trade deadline is passed and the summer is a ways off - but how does he look in practice?
Could it be that AB is hitting shots in the gym, just not at game time?
Otherwise playing him just makes no sense, even for BC.

Of course he is - I'm sure Ross is as well, and Rudy and AA hit most of their jumpshots in practice too
It's not as if these players are shooting 35% in practice and go in to games thinking "Ok it'll be easier with the cameras and lights and ridiculously intense defense."
Same with Casey, he doesn't make this **** up on the spot, it's all a product of what he sees in practice, which unfortunately never seems to carry over into games.

The problem is, NBA players rarely go that hard in practice during the season. When they do, it's because they ----ed up the night before and the coach wants to drill somethings down in their heads.
And a lazy Bargnani in practice is probably a Bargnani that goes through the motions and shoot long jumpers for an hour.
His confidence is so shattered that he misses a lot of jumpers in the pregame warm-ups and never even shows up for any warm-up shots (around 6 pm) before the pregame warm-up. The only players I see consistently are DeMar and Amir. Chris Bosh used to be the only guy that comes out too.

pbj: i don't think the lights and crowd are much of a surprise or factor in a pro players game, having performed publicly since they were young, nba players are used to it. Maybe at home Bargs is a bit more affected by the boo's but the fact that it's "in-game" shouldn't mean much at this point in his career.
OhMyBosh: if you see him missing lots of shots in the pre-game, why on earth are they playing him? He brings nothing if not offence and he hasn't been bringing that either.
It's mind boggling.

As a professional you need to be able to play at the level of your peers.
Bargnani plays at the level of my nephew and his peers.

Some guys have the ability to just turn it on when they want. So those pre-game warm-ups are merely to stretch their shooting arms. But how Bargnani shoots in the pre-game is how he shoots in the game so I'm as mind-boggled as you are.
Also to note: Landry Fields is also a culprit of missing almost every shot he attempts during the warm-ups.

I am just guessing that his elbow is not fully recovered, but maybe 96%.
Casey has him play closer to the post, so I suspect he is not 100% recovered. I think he is feeling better, but his shots are still off from long ranger, where as he needs to shoot longer range with extended elbow.
I really like to know what they do in practice, but I believe they were just running plays. I think they need a shooting drill to get everyone on track with their shootings, hopefully that helps them space the floor better.

Yeah, I've been wondering how his shot looks in practice.
Can't be. He's 1/15 from deep since his return.

Is Bargnani not accepting any post game interviews? I haven't heard from him in a while and i'd love to hear what he has to say

Seriously, I want to know what' going on with him, in his head, in practice... how does a player go from being the first option to the last option (or close) and no one's really asking any questions?!

I've coached basketball and nothing is worse than having a player playing exceptionally well in practice but is horrible in games.

Uh, it might be what BC sees in practice. I mean don't forget this is the same GM who has been supporting this clown for 7 years, and refused to move him this year. Why would anyone put this on Casey? He's not gonna play BC's 10 million dollar man at all?

My experience is, this applies to guards more often than bigs. They failed to run play, and failed to pass the ball. Frequently go on their own, because they believe they can, instead of playing like a team.

I wouldn't think it'd be on Bargnani's end, im sure he would accept any interviews, i just think that the media in Toronto isn't doing their job.

I'm sure the community of Realgm would all like to hear what Bargnani has to say, I just don't know if it's a big a deal in the Toronto sports scene or if the media is just lazy.

Just sent Dougie an email:
"Dear Dough Smith,
Long time reader, raptors fan from the get go... Please, for the love of all Raptors fans, ask Andrea what he thinks of the fans booing. We really want to know and no one seems to be asking him to his face. You have the access and Raptors fans are dying for this dialogue.
Sincerely,

EDIT: OMG, just realized I typo'd "Dough Smith" ****.

Re: What's it look like in Practice RE:Bargs
On League Pass during halftime against Cleveland the camera stayed fixed on the raptors end of the court so you could watch the players shootaround and Bargs looked good. He was energetic, bouncy and his shot looked great knocking down 3's and long two's off the dribble and spotting up. It was bizarre to see when he was so lethargic and off with his shot during the game. Physically Bargs looked good, I just think he hasn't adjusted (or been sufficiently coached) to know where his shots are coming from now and he's over thinking every action on the court. I think he will settle down and adjust but god knows how long it will take him.

Interesting to know. The League Pass I got (archive games) has it cut out (or filtered).
I think Bargnani should either be making cuts (v-cuts or cutting towards the basket), take the high-post shots (was getting a lot of attention/contested), and 3 point shots (he needs to practice it if his arm is fully healed, otherwise, a one dribble pull up).
I prefer Bargnani as a range shooter as the 3rd option. 1st option is whoever creates, 2nd option is the big rolling to the basket or cutters moving to the basket, then the last option is shooters (corner 3 or Bargnani at the top).
