Definitely 1 of the Van gundy brothers. I prefer JVG though, he's more approachable. Also, when JVG talks about our team, its usually all positive comments. SVG has a temper i heard. All in all, no more inexperienced assistant coaches.

Butch is like a smaller version of Wayne Embry now. You probably walk by him on street without even recognizing that's him. Let alone all other stuffs which will make him never become a head coach again.

mike brown seriously? He had both Howard, Kobe and Nash to work with, what do you think he'll accomplish with our terrible roster?

Van Gundys gets my vote. I'm done with taking flyers on sub-par assistant coaches. Get someone in here that can make a difference.

I really like Leo Rautins, his analysis during games is top-notch and I think it would translate well to coaching

Mike Brown is worse than Casey. SWG would be all right I guess. I would love David Blatt however, he is great.

Re: Who would u hire to replace Casey?
My first post, I'd like to quickly introduce myself.
I'm from Orlando, but moved back to Toronto a few years ago, just started to be a Raptors Fan (especially since the Magic are in no better shape).
That being said, I cast my vote for Stan Van Gundy. It might be a stretch, but I see some similarities with the current Raptors Starters and the 2009 Magic. I doubt Stan will move away from Orlando. It might be good to point out that Bryan C did offer the Toronto coaching job to Jeff Van Gundy a few years back.

Overall I agree, Toronto needs a better coach.

Coaches don't count under the salary cap. Throw some money at someone.

I think SVG's not realistic.

If I could coach three days a week on my schedule and not travel, I would love to. I love the coaching. I miss the practices. I miss thinking about the strategy. I miss the games. But the lifestyle part if a whole different thing. And my wife certainly doesn't miss it. She basically raised four kids.
There will be a big part of me that always will want to coach. But my family deserves to have veto power. They sacrificed. When we moved here (from Miami in 2007) my oldest daughter was going to be a sophomore in high school. She was pissed. I think she has forgiven me by now. I felt bad for her but I needed the job.
It would have to be a place where I came home and said, "What do you think of such-and-such city?" I don't know if that's out there.
Q: Could it be in, say, Milwaukee?
A: We've done our time in Wisconsin. We spent three years there (from 1992-95 when Van Gundy coached Wisconsin). We loved Madison but when you've lived like this, and lived in Miami, I don't know that we're going back to winters. It's funny because my wife is from Vermont. But now, if it drops below 70 degrees, she's too cold.
Q: Are you limited geographically?
A: It's not just weather. (Maybe) if there were places where we were close to family. I wouldn't do it against their will. It was funny, but some (possibilities) came up this summer. My 15-year old (daughter Ali) rides horses. She said, "If we're going somewhere, (horses) Summer and Julie have to go with us."
I can't do the thing where the family stays here and I go off on and coach. (Boston Celtics coach) Doc Rivers has done it for years. (Detroit Pistons coach) Lawrence Frank is doing it. But if you're off in another city, you're never going to see them. Now, my family might actually enjoy that. But I wouldn't.

Agreed realistically Miami/Orlando are fantastic.
In terms of "hope" -- if he really needs a job... Let's just say it was economics that forced my way up to Toronto.

Re: Who would u hire to replace Casey?
I don't believe MLSE will let BC cut Casey lose and still keep his job...BC will have fired too many coaches to justify MLSE letting him fire/hire yet another....
So with that said, the question becomes who would MLSE bring in as the new Raptors top gun? And the new boss will then relieve Casey of his job and bring in his own new guy....
