Agreed 100% with this.
Firing Casey is not going to accomplish anything. FFS, look at our roster. It's flawed on so many levels, what did you really expect Casey to do??

It's not that flawed. We're definitely not great, but we're not as bad as an Irving-less Cavs team.
We have an energetic big that can hit free throws (and needs to develop) sitting on the bench during the fourth quarter - even when he's played great throughout the game. Casey never really initiates anything, he simply reacts to what the opposing coach is doing.
Firing him now and bringing in a new coach is only setting yourselves up for disappointment when you see the same results.
sanity wrote:You can fire Casey, but to me it was even more idiotic of this team to keep him employed after that start to the season. If Smitch can get fired at 8-9, what excuse was there for keeping Casey around while going .200? This was a team that was expected by its GM to be 'more competitive'. **** ass management with absolutely no plan nor accountability.
We're not good enough for the playoffs, but obviously not set on sucking since we trade draft picks away. Its a directionless team that overspends for a crappy enough product that can fool just enough fans into supporting it
FlutieX wrote:The smallball is just something Casey feels comfortable with. It is criminal we haven't called Acy up to add big man depth. Aaron Gray is the entirety of our depth at the 4-5 spot. We play Gay at the 4 spot despite the fact all stats prove he's terrible there. Why is our best proven lineup Amir and Jonas starting who are definitive PF/C and not tweeners? edit: Aren't we the worst rebounding team in the league right now? Might have something to do with not having any big men!
It's Casey just ignoring what works, ignoring the stats, going with what he prefers and being arrogant and inflexible. Casey has tried all year to force a square peg into a round hole so why stop now?
If I was an assistant coach in the NBA looking for a job as a head coach, I'd just look at everything Casey has done and do the exact opposite. His entire tenure here has been a lesson in getting the least out of your team.
