Any recent Otto Porter highlight videos from games this season? I cannot find one for some reason.

If you just watch his highlight videos, I suspect you may not come away too impressed. He's a player you really got to watch him in a game.

Otto Porter isn't a player who's gonna blow you away. But like Beal last year, he's a smart player with a good all-around game, and is a PERFECT fit for this team.

Anthony Bennett is listed as day-to-day with nerve inflammation in his left shoulder.

“Right now we’re treating him as having brachial neuritis, which is exactly inflammation of the nerve group coming off your neck to the shoulder,” said UNLV team trainer Dave Tomchek.

Bennett underwent both an MRI and ultrasound and will be re-evaluated prior to the Runnin’ Rebels’ Saturday afternoon game against Nevada.

“We’ve determined there’s no structural damage in the shoulder; we’re taking care of the nerve and it’s going to be a day-to-day situation,” Tomchek said. “He’ll get treatment and proceed with activity as pain allows him. There’s no timetable as to when this is going to be completely gone.”

6'6 223, maybe he could be a backup G/f

At the very least he could be a 3 point specialist. He plays "the right way" as well. He barely has any presence on DX, I wonder if he even declares.

I was just goofing around on DX. Deuce Bello has a freakish body. 6 foot 3 with a 6 foot 11 wingspan.

ESPN has Chad Ford's lotto simulator up and running. It looks like Ford has us taking Noel if he is available, and Alex Len if he isn't. Indeed, even if we pick #2 and Noel goes #1, he has us taking Len. There are no scenarios with both Noel and Len off the board when we pick, so I have no idea who Ford thinks our 3rd choice would be. I'm curious if we like Porter, Bennett or Oladipo.

I hope he is wrong. I really don't want Len unless we pick 7th or 8th and Noel, Porter and Oladipo are all off the board. I guess it's a bit early to get too worked up about it though.

According to Ford, there really aren't any clear cut front-runners in this draft. It really depends on the team. He has the Magic, Hornets and Kings taking Smart with the #1 pick, the TWolves, Suns and Bobcats would take McLemore, the Wizards and Cavaliers would take Noel. If he is right (and if things don't change over the next few months), there is a good chance that Noel will be available as late as 3rd in the draft, as long as the Cavs don't pick ahead of us.

In general, it looks like the top tier is Smart, Noel and McLemore in some order (except when the Wizards crack the top 3 and Noel is off the board, then Len goes to the Wizards). The next tier includes Len, Bennett, Porter, Oladipo and Shabazz, with Shabazz typically in the bottom of this group. Zeller never goes higher than 9th.

EDIT: I just found a scenario where Len is off the board when we pick. (Apparently, the Hornets would take Len if Smart and Noel are off the board). With Noel, Smart, Len and McLemore off the board, Ford thinks we would take Bennett over Oladipo, Porter and Shabazz.

I don't know how much of this is based on Ford's insider info, or if it's just his assessment of various rosters and their team needs. I guess Ford really thinks we need a young big.

Ford has good FO sources but it is probably too early for him to be very accurate.

NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

OK, you can imagine how much I love G.I. Joe. He is about to surpass Jeff Lamp and Bryant Stith as my all-time favorite Cavs player. He epitomizes class, always respectful, always plays hard on both ends of the floor. Has an incredible shooting touch, but is very underrated as an athlete, and as a creative player who can drive & finish. Plays with an evident joy for the game every minute of every game. The kind of kid that you just feel good rooting for. A lot like his coach, actually. I would absolutely love for him to be on the Wizards.

Just make sure it's in the 2014 draft, please. We need him in Hooville for one more year!

Actually, I agree. I posted that last night in the heat of the moment. He's definitely coming back for his 4th year. There's no reason not to.There's no way he can play himself into the first round. Last night's game did secure him a shot at NBA ball but he'll be a 2nd rounder this year or next anyway. Why not close it out? 2nd rounder 2014.

Well, then - yes, absolutely! And we could hire Tony Bennett as the coach too!

Oh wait a minute, I care more about UVA than the Wiz, so I want CTB to stay in Charlottesville. But he would make an excellent NBA coach, IMO.

I'm not sure Bennett's old school, defensively-focused style would fly with a lot of NBA players but then again Carlisle has had success is in the NBA...

He was AAU teammates w/ John Wall.

Dude is SUPER raw though. He's an athlete learning how to play basketball. All he can do is dunk.

My "best-fit" rankings for this team:

1. Otto Porter — An all-around solid player from a good program. High character, high-motor, with a strong (yet developing) skillset. He's just an ideal fit for this team and someone who can start from day one. He's also insurance in-case Webster and/or Ariza leave the team.

2. Nerlens Noel — The consensus #1 if he didn't injure himself. Quite frankly, I hope the Wizards aren't in a position to draft him because it's a huge risk. You just never know with ACL injuries...and this team has a terrible past when it comes to dealing with damaged goods.

3. Victor Oladipo — If he were two inches taller, he'd may be my #1 pick. I love how he plays the game...very fluid, yet aggressive, and super-athletic. He's going to be a defensive stopper that can score at the next level, and there's only a handful of those type of two-way players in the NBA.
