March Predictions
I see the Jazz going 7-9 in March. I've got them going 6-1 at home but 1-8 on the road. That's probably an unrealistic split, but the overall record sounds about right given the schedule.

11-5 as haywards good play will make the difference. If BIg Al is out for a couple of weeks it would help as well.
Play with the Pass, Play with a Purpose, and Play with Pace along with Obvious Unselfishness....Coach Snyder says the sky is purple than Jazz players say nice purple sky! LONG LIVE THE MAD SCIENTIST!!!!

How do they get to 11? That's at least four road wins. They haven't won four road games in a month all season.

Ah yes, "next season" -- that mythical time when our young players are given a chance to maximize their potential and our front office demonstrates they have a plan for the future. I too look forward to "next season." I just hope it comes before I die or get completely tired of this team.

That's exactly what I thought when I read that comment......

Touché, although I think it's a sade assumption that one of Millsap or Jefferson will be gone and Favors will be starting. That and I think our point guard rotation will look a bit different.
I don't care if the team is struggling as long as it's fun to watch, like in '04.

Re: March Predictions
I checked end of year predictions and several places have HOU passing us, and LAL getting 8th.
I have a big toss up between 6th-11th(in no particular order):
6-HOU-Face Lakers, Nugs, POR and Jazz x1, and Mavs x2 but have nice schedule
7-GSW-Face Lakers, Rockets and Blazers x2 and Jazz x1 but have best schedule
8-LAL
9-DAL-Face Lakers and Jazz x1 each
10-UTA
11POR-Face Jazz x2
I guess if you calculated what happen if each team faced just each other, and see how close it will become:
If Lakers win tonight, they are only 2 games behind 8th, and 4.5 behind 6th.
Dallas is only 5 games behind 8th, and Portland is only 4 games behind 8th.

Real quick look at it:
If Golden State lost all its playoff fighter games, then Lakers won all its, they would be playoff contender
If Rockets lost all its playoff fighter games, then DAL won all its, Dallas would be playoff contender

Re: March Predictions
As a Laker fan who grew up in Utah I still follow the Jazz a bit. I was looking at your schedule before the allstar break even before it was as close as it is now and it doesn't look good. I just don't see what they were doing holding on to Sap and Jeff when the reality was they might not even stay in the playoffs. And lacking a true star right now and with the road woes, what would they really do when they get there. I like the young core moving forward and I think both Gordon and Burks have the mental and skill type to become that guy that can push them deeper, but not quite yet. I just think they could have gotten an extra draft pick or a wing or something instead of this push that will likely end in nothing. The stretch you guys have from Chicago all the way to Dallas mostly on the road... you can't even slip up at home vs Memphis and NY. Laker's schedule is actually pretty favorable and they are trending upward with play, health, and chemistry. I can't say that for the rest of the teams. Mo going down was a big blow. GS is in the same boat imo, but they have a slightly bigger cushion. They also have a stretch coming up though that I'd be impressed if they did better then 1 win for every 2 losses. I honestly think the Lakers can maintain a 2-1 win ratio the rest of the way and the Jazz will be lucky to finish the stretch from @Miluakee to @Dallas better then 4-7.
Shoulda let the young guns run imo.

Re: March Predictions
FYI here is the schedules and how I think it will go down. Give or take a loss or two for each team and it's going to come down to some tie breakers and 1 or 2 game spread for all 4, not even including Dallas and Portland.

Re: March Predictions
Looking ahead further to April, the Jazz play only 4 out of 8 games against teams who could conceivably care about winning.
With that in mind I don't see the Jazz finishing the season much worse than 11-13, which means the Lakers would have to go 14-9 to overtake them.

Re: March Predictions
I have been doing the same research. I asked some laker fans for their predictions on all the games, but I didn't get any answer to I predicted for them for my research.
Honestly, Lakers face Hou one more time, I really think that is their main target, and they face GSW two more times which also makes them a likely target also. The only thing Lakers have against Jazz is a slightly better schedule, even though we own the series and don't face each other again, which is 2 wins to 1.
With Lakers yearly struggles, I just don't see why people are jumping the bandwagon for Lakers to go and do what they have done in their last 10 games the rest of the year. Anything is possible, and Lakers only need one of us to mess up. In a week Lakers and Houston will be even and everyone will jump on the Rocket Bandwagon as the team they pass up.
What I learned is, just because you got a home game, doesn't mean your set. You still have to go and win those games whether at home or not.

Re: March Predictions
When you start adding Spurs to your win column your insane. I think your high on the Lakers Playoff bandwagon is you can predict them only losing 3 times in March...that is like a best possible outcome. Of course with Jazzes likely outcome compared to Lakers outcome, I would admit it looks good for Lakers, I personally think Lakers will get maybe 9 wins in March at best, and Jazz at 7, which still doesn't have you in our 7th playoff position, but surprisingly I also have Rockets with 7 wins in March, which puts you real close to 8th, which is only 1 game. If you take my weakest likely prediction, Rockets only win 4-5 times in March, that puts you tied for 8th!
Assuming you stay this equal, you will tie them with the last game of the year, or it will put you ahead for 8th!!!
I think its a toss up between Lakers and Rockets for 8th. Then Jazz will move up a spot, putting them in 6th.
My Bold Prediction:
1-SAS
2-LAC
3-OKC
4-DEN
5-MEM
--------------^This was just for fun, below is the real prediction!
6-UTA
7-GSW
8-HOU and LAL Tied (Lakers win on April 17th, with the tie breaker your Conference Wins)
*With Lakers having the most Conference wins(which Rockets suck at). I declare Lakers playoff canidate, but for Hou's 8th spot).
