Good luck Raj. I see where you're coming from, moving exposes you to a different culture and different sports teams so I can understand you wanting to join the culture. Plenty of people move elsewhere and begin to root for new teams. Plenty of people also move elsewhere and support their old teams as well. The sports culture of cities can be awesome (especially in the pacific northwest) so I can understand why you want to join. With all that being said though I can't help but feel like you will regret your decision and will especially regret it if Seattle doesn't get a new NBA team.

I can't imagine rooting for pro teams other than the Magic, Dolphins, and Mets. Sure, my teams have made me cynical and even angry at times but I wouldn't have it any other way and I know once one of my teams win a chip it will be that much sweeter.

Enjoy the West dude it's awesome especially the Pacific NW.. I have some family in Oakland and Oregon and I really hope to make the move out there eventually. Good luck man we all know what team you're really rooting for

Best to DJRAJX and his new life in Seattle. I guess I can understand wanting to fit in with a new town, but I've been living in Washington DC area for 7 years now and will always be a Magic, Jags fan. I can't root for the Wizards or Skins. Just seems wrong. If you ever get withdraws and want to root for the Magicians again you are welcome back with open arms.

torn between whether we need a pg (Smart) or interior defense (Noel) more....would love to trade someone (davis, affalo, nelson...etc.?) for a pick and get one of these combos (Smart/bennett, austin, or cauley-stein/ Noel/Burke or Carter-williams

I'd prefer Smart. Noel's injury scares me and I kinda had Thabeet-like worries about him anyways.

How the **** do you bandwagon to another team? you know there is such a thing as having multiple favorite teams. sorry i just find that incredibly idiotic

I think if you put McGee back then, he would get those blocks just as easily as Russell did. Russell's athleticism was well ahead of the players of his time, and that's about it.

Davis and Nelson are negative value, neither brings us a lottery pick. But agree on Smart, he seems NBA ready in my opinion, and can see him starting over Jameer next year.

How is Jameer a negative value? he is essentially an expiring next year he's averaging 14.5 and 7.5 how on earth is he a negative value? :-?

Google "injury prone", you'll find a picture of Jameer Nelson

But in all seriousness, it's because of that fact. Jameer has the capability of being this teams best player, but he can't stay healthy long enough to accomplish that. I don't see it getting much better anytime soon either, it's been like this the last 4 years.

What makes Smart an nba-ready point guard?

NBA ready? I'm not sure that he is. As I just wrote in one of our ongoing prospect threads, that jumpshot does need work. But I think he will absolutely get there, and that his combination of power, athleticism, defensive intensity, passing instincts, vocal intangibles/leadership, and height at PG make him very hard to pass up. He just seems like a Hennigan guy.

As far as being NBA ready, though, I guess that's the beauty of retaining Jameer? And from a Wiggins-Derby standpoint, maybe it's better that it might take half a season for the guy to fully acclimate.

I don't hate Noel, but if I'm choosing between a 6'4 PG with the strength and athleticism to dismantle smaller guards at both ends of the floor and a 218 lb shot blocker whose most marketable trait is his hair, I have a pretty good idea of which one's game will translate better to the NBA.

To me when point guard is the most oversaturated position in all of basketball I'm not sure a project player is what we need at the point guard position. To me, Noel is the clear best fit. A big man duo of Brian Cook and Robin Lopez would probably average 50 points combined in a seven game series against Nicholson-Vucevic.

Defensive bigs are at a premium right now. Defensive bigs with huge upside? Even more of a premium. Hennigan knows how this league works. The Thunder chose Ibaka over Harden. So I see him selecting Noel this year and grabbing a wing/pg in next year's loaded draft.

Noel seems like a Hennigan guy to me. If Noel is on the board, he's going to the Magic.

Would you trade the #1 pick in the draft for Larry Sanders? Same height as Noel, 15 lbs heavier, with no ACL wear and with proven elite defense at the NBA level. Just trying to gauge how you value the pick.

except he isnt, because he is still owed money. A team that gets him still has to pay him money to go away. Money that does count against the cap. Maybe it isnt his full year, but it still counts. And it doesnt matter what he averages, he cannot stay healthy.
