How does he differ from a guy like E'tuan? I suspect Moore's game is based more on being a 3 point shooter but has size, is a defensive presence, and is capable of running an offense. I keep reading conflicting things about Smart -- he's a fantastic distributing pure pg in one opinion, the next he's a score-minded combo guard.

What's the real deal here?

He is not like Wade...no idea what hes talking about there.

I think that was his game in high school. That interview was done before the McDonald's All-American game IIRC. There was even a James Harden comparison too.

I would compare noel to prime camby as max potential 10-13 reb 2-3 bpg 10-18ppg. Smart im not sure but his defense and leadership would be a nice addition.

Question if by some miracle we land wiggins who would you trade (assuming they panned out) harris or harkless?

If Tobes continues to develop and becomes ball dominant does anyone else see a clash between he and Smart? Smart seems like he's best with the ball in his hands and maybe wouldn't play to his potential if he has to be off ball.

In a new interview today, Vaughn was asked AGAIN about nicholson and harris playing together and he AGAIN kept thinking of it as them being an issue playing the 4 and the 5. One of the reporters had to specially say what about the 3 and the 4 and vaughn was like OHHHH... "without a doubt...." (awkward pause). What the hell is he thinking. http://www.nba.com/magic/video/2013/03/ ... p4-2401710

Anybody else feel like all the other teams fans in the NBA are rooting for us? HAHA I mean I go to the GB & there are fans from a ton of teams in the Tobias thread just really happy that we got a really good player potentially.

Just seems weird to me lol

They always feel bad for the worse teams. Once Magic become relevant again they'll start hating again.

They probably saw the whole Dwight situation and how Otis crippled us financially and are somewhat excited to see making our way out of the dumpster with a solid rebuild of young talent.

Things like that really frustrate me about JV. Sadly, I'm starting to think more and more that he isn't the right head coach for this team. I am willing to give him more of a shot but some of the things he says and does just are starting to make me question him a lot.

I do think a lot of other teams fans are rooting for us. I think they all know what a rough situation us fans were in last year with all the Dwight stuff, and they are happy that things are looking up for us after everything that has happened.

He's clearly on a rebuilding team and playing the young guys (well, injury helps too). I'm not sure why people want to give him the boot. I haven't been overly puzzled by anything he's done, say like SVG in the last 2 years.

I've grown off and back on Shabazz again. I think he is going to be the best NBA scorer of this draft class, but I like Smart a lot too. He won't be a Kyrie, Rose, Westbrook, etc. but I think he can be a top 10-15 PG and starter for a championship team.

I have no problem with how JV answered. I think he was just trying not to give out too much to the media. The reporter kept from asking a direct question and would dance around. It seemed like they were both being cautious about what they say about Harkless. We have 3 young guys, all who deserve playing time. We don't want to shake Harkless' confidence by making him 2nd fiddle to Tobias just after a week of him being here. With Tobias' performances and the hype, fans and the media are going to push for Tobias to be started in front of Harkless. But Harkless has been doing well lately. He's come a long way since early in the season. We don't want to screw that up. JV doesn't want to screw that up. With our excitement and expectations, we'd push for Tobias. But JV's gotta think about more than that.

Did you watch the press conference yesterday? This was a followup to that. They asked why Vaughn hasn't tried playing them together at all during games... Vaughn just assumed 4/5 for whatever reason... has nothing to do with being careful about Harkless' confidence or keeping info away from the media. Speaking of, if Vaughn was concerned with Harkless' confidence, he would have let him play in the 4th quarter instead of putting a three guard lineup out there...

Vaughn had a brain fart, simple as that. Yesterday's interview: http://www.nba.com/magic/video/2013/03/ ... p4-2401340

I'd be happy if Smart had a career like Chauncey Billups for us.

Pick Smart with your pick and then trade Afflalo for Min's lotto pick. That trade would be a win-win trade I believe because Minny is looking for more win now. And you guys can get another good young player like Olapido and have the best backcourt defense for years to come.

Minnesota does need a replacement for Brandon Roy but if they somehow wind up with a top 5 pick, I doubt they trade it to us for AA. If they go between 10-13 I think we can get it from them at that point

I would not trade AA for a 10-13 pick, he is much better than that. With Jameer most likely playing one more year after this, I'd like some veteran leadership.
