I just LOL at the reporters trying to carefully ask Vaughn why Harris and Nicholson are never on at the same time......Mass confusion. Why dont they just ask the man what they really want to ask him instead of beating around the bush? No wonder Vaughn was confused as to what they were getting at.

Vaughn for some reason assumed that the reporter's original question meant why dont Andrew and Tobias play in the front line together.

P L E A S E!

He's played the 4 every single minute he's been here iirc.

Really? Didn't notice that.

But I still think he's better suited to play at the 3.

He only played all PF here, He has been playing SF all this time and it is is natural NBA position, which is why they keep prodding him as to why he seemingly wont use him there at all.[/quote]

Oh, gotchya. And thus, the debate on whether or not Harkless is worth keeping at the 3 when we could be playing Tobes, correct?

Harkless is worth keeping, theres no debate against anywhere that i have heard. The argument is more geared around next year and going forward. Most dont want Harris playing out of position full time (defensively) alongside Vucevic who is already a soft defender down low. The feeling is that we would generally get pushed around down low.

The argument is coming basically from the people that are saying start keep starting Harkless and either keep Harris off the bench (6th man) or move him to PF long term even at the expense of the defense.

I feel that we need to move him back to SF/PF and get a big PF/C defensive presence to starting PF that would allow the Frontcourt to mesh offensively and defensively. Harkless would be the 6th man SF (and potentially a backup SG for defense also)

There's so much infighting on the Bucks board......

I feel bad for them.

And we're afraid to put Tobes at staring SF right now because we don't want any quarrels within the team, right? Just trying to catch up on the Magic since I haven't been able to watch them too much lately.

Nobody knows. Hell, nobody even knows if Vaughn even knows he plays SF he seemed oblivious to the fact. It really isn't important this year anyways, We dont even have a better defensive option (none that is heathy) then Harris at PF this year unless we start O'Quinn there. Besides If we are going to force feed Harkless mins its gonna be this year when we are going nowhere. Unless anybody thinks we should be devoting more time to developing Nicholson rather then Harkless.

Don't really like the blending of other players in his nickname. I want his to be original, and "All-Business" does the trick.

I want him to prove everyone wrong in the upcoming week. I cannot wait for tomorrow. Haven't felt like this about a Magic game in a loooong time.

We'll see how Tobias fares against a defense like Memphis', who (I've read) are good at limiting wing production. It was mentioned somewhere on this board that Tobias hasn't yet gone up against strong defensive teams with us, so it will be interesting and instructive to see how Harris fares against the Grizzlies, the Heat, and the other strong defenses. It will also be interesting to see how Tobias fares against forwards who have similar size and strength to his own ala Pierce, LeBron, Carmelo, and World Peace (who has a great deal of strength even though he hasn't been a very good player for a couple years now.) I'm not dismissing Tobias's production by any means, but it should be interesting to see how he does against the better defenses.

Edit: It was mentioned on this website that Tobias hasn't yet gone against the stronger defenses, not on this board in particular (I think).

The rest of the month will be interesting... we have the grizz tomorrow, like you said. Then we get to see him against our old friend Ryan Anderson, followed by LeBron James and David West. The week after that we'll see him against the Lakers, OKC and his old team the Bucks. And the week after that he gets another crack at the Pacers, his idol Carmelo, and then OKC again. We play Miami again in the last week of the month, too.

Bucks fan here. Out of curiosity, where's Harris been playing at mainly in ORL- 3 or 4? As he's shooting like 70per I'd reckon hes at the 4 but I don't know. Thanks!

I discussed this like a few pages ago already lol. I already said JV thinks of Tobias as a 4 when he did his post game conf.

It just makes too much sense right now. We're not trying to find the best 1-5 lineup for playoffs and our only other PF besides Nich is Al who's coming along slowly. It makes complete sense to play Kobias (fave nickname!) as a PF now. We don't need to look for a defensive PF with all the draft picks and cap money we'll have down the line either. But down the line, I do suspect Kobias will play back at a 3. Moe at this time, may have either developed to starting 2 or will put one of Harris or Moe to the bench. The beauty is in the 2/3 role Moe can handle because he is so athletic and fast, and the 3/4 role Harris can have because he is strong, there may be one of them on the bench (like now), but between their 2/3 and 3/4 abilities and the specific matchups, they will both get about close to 26-30+ minutes a game each. Those are beyond critical players, only Vuc, a Magic PG and one other Magic PF or Wing can easily get more minutes than those two by the necessities of a full lineup and the flexibility that Moe/Harris bring.

Harris is crushing it as a PF at this moment, and we don't really have PFs anyways. This makes it not something that should be read into for the future for sure, or really even to worry about at all as these two 19, 20 yr olds get better. They have too much athleticism, potential and versatility for either to worry about getting any less than 28~ minutes down the line in a title contender team.

Yup, PF for nearly all his minutes. I think in one of the blowouts he played a few possessions at Center. Can't recall him playing SF at all...

Yeah, I think that was josh robbins? I hate when he asks questions because he gets really quiet and takes forever to spit out his question. Sounds like a little boy asking his abusive parents if he can watch TV for 5 minutes. Still, unless the original question yesterday was worded weirdly, Vaughn should have assumed the media meant Harris/Nicholson at the 3/4, not 4/5. I don't really have a negative opinion on Vaughn or anything, but to assume 4/5 seems very odd to me. Not even casual fans are thinking that...

I think it's so obvious that they can play the 3/4 together that JV must have assumed they were asking him something else. At least that's all I can come up with.
