KembaWalker wrote:I dont care if mclemore sucks on defense im sick of drafting defensive players. Bobcats have never had a draft pick that could get them even 15ppg on good efficiency EVER. An easy way to improve your defense is to actually MAKE shots which our team never does so our d is never set correctly. Mclemore is hyperefficient scoring without hogging the ball sign me up!!

Hendo in college as a junior was 54% ts at this level hes about 50..mclemore 63%ts in college! Ray allen himself was o ly 59.5%. Get some efficient scoring on this team and be amazed how much better it makes everyone

Agreed, i don't think he "sucks" on defense though. I definitely see where you are coming from though. We suck at putting the ball in the bucket, which just destroys every other aspect of our game. Kills morale, which lowers defensive intensity. Also other teams play pressure free knowing more often than not we just can't score enough to win, so everyone is in the comfort zone when playing us, no pressure at all.

I want to see McClemore get more aggressive in the tourney. I think Self made mention of this a few weeks ago to him. He is rolling now though, but man...I just want to see him create his offense a bit more and i'd be 100% on board. I just keep thinking how he would look on our team. He is looking like such a system player right now. I know he is more than that, but that is what we are seeing. I just want to see more. I know he can flat out shoot it and is an athlete. I've seen some flashes of his passing ability and seems to have a good BBall IQ, but I just want to see him score efficiently in 1 on 1 situations, which is what he'll mostly see in the NBA.

If we get two picks (ours and the Blazers) I am more in favour of going big with the 1st (Noel, Bennett, Zeller, Len etc) and then getting a SG with the Blazers pick (GRIII, THJ, Goodwin etc).

Double dip baby!!

We should do it the other way -- take McLemore, then Plumlee.

Why Plumlee over Cauley-Stein? Plumlee would make more of an immediate impact but we have the luxury of time - at least one more year in the tank.

I also feel like McLemore is a safe pick and so is Plumlee. I would rather reach on the POR pick because at that distance I take more risk. I don't take risk with our top pick though.

Cauley-Stein is more of a big swing imo

Because I think the bigs at the top are better than the bigs in the middle and the wings at the top are comparable to the wings in the middle.

I think that would be a successful draft, yet we'd still have an outside chance at the top 3 for 2014.

I see two scenarios

Draft mclemore/shabazz and start making win now moves like getting a couple good bigs in free agency maybe a trade of future picks paired with bg expiring + biz could net us an all star level big from someone build with a kemba/draft pick/mkg core and see what they can do with a good front court

Or if those two are off the board draft nerlens and tank hard again for wiggins/parker/randle. I just dont know if i can handle another year of this ****

CHA pick - Shabazz Muhammad, Nerlens Noel, Marcus Smart, or Anthony Bennett

POR pick - Kelly Olynyk, Rudy Gobert, Mason Plumlee, or Michael Carter-Williams

I have to say, and it's still early, but I think I am leaning towards Shazbazz over McLemore.

Not a bad list, although I've got McLemore at the top right now (not overwhelming), I'd put Mitchell and Glenn III in the late lotto, and Smart around 5.

I have not seen an extended highlight of Kansas/McLemore today, but I did see some of the game. He had a few really nice moments where he pulled up and created his own midrange jumpers and got to the basket a few times. He is the smoothest athlete I have seen this year, with how easy he elevates and glides, he does need to work on his handle, but his elevation and quick trigger will allow him to create shots even without great dribbles. When I compare him to Beal, McLemore is the better athlete and has a quicker release.

I also, seen Shabazz play a decent amount today, but came away unimpressed again. It seems like he plays the game at a Paul Pierce like speed, but without Pierces playmaking and intangibles. Muhammad seems like all he cares about is his own scoring and could care less about anything else. Late in the game he was more concerned with getting shots up then holding onto the lead and they almost threw it away. I question his ability to guard 2 guards in the league and impact the game in other ways.

Marcus Smart has cooled off some lately, but I still think he has big time upside. Oladipo is my boy, but I still would be weary about taking him any higher then 5th. Otto Porter seems to have a smooth game and picks his spots well, but plays same spot as MKG.

To me its a four man race.. with McLemore, Smart, Bennett, and Noel rotating spots. I am a bit afraid that we will draft a guy like McLemore or Smart and they will not be much better then Hendo and we will wont gain much ground. McLemore and Hendo have similiar handles and athletcism, but Ben has a much better 3ball and is more efficient scorer.

Perfect for me: McLemore and Len

Most likely: McLemore and Olynyk

OK with me at a minimum: McLemore/Shabazz and Plumlee

Anything less is not successful
