For some reason I thought Beal's numbers were higher (at least matched with Lillard's ppg), but that must've been coz of the per36 numbers I was looking at. His shooting percentages were much higher (Lillard hovering around 41-42 for the two months I believe), and his team record is much better (14-14 vs 11-18).

Plus factor in that POR has a #1 option/top big man and all-star in LMA (not to mention Batum/Wes/Hickson) while Beal doesn't really have anyone close to his PPG and is carrying a bigger scoring load. He's really leading that team, so saying Beal would be ROY for 2013 onwards has a very good case.

Of course, I did think Beal was averaging more points though.

Why tell someone to relax because they provided facts? And Lillard has no one that creates for him, he has to create his own shots where as Beal if often assisted. This plays into FG% so looking at just that to form your opinion on who is better between the two makes no sense. Beal is a great prospect, but saying he's better now is false. Saying he's clearly going to be better than Lillard in the future is pure speculation.

Beal carried off the court, looked like an ankle sprain at best, but the fact that he put no pressure on it tells me it's probably broken.

Damn.

Did Valanciunas fall off the face of the Earth? This guy has potential to be a double double machine. Most of the prospects on those lists are role player/bench player caliber.
Looking for a new signature. Currently, still evaluating.

If we're talking re-draft I'd probably go like this:

1. Davis
2. Beal
3. Lillard
4. Waiters
5. Drummond

No, a lot of people come in here and make comments about Blazers fans because it is easier for you to make broad generalizations about an entire fanbase. Even though all of your complaints have been directed towards two or three people, and not the other ten or so who are also Blazers fans posting here from time to time. Should I generalize all Washington fans based on your actions? Do you think your thoughts, responses, and actions represent the entirety of your fellow Wizards fans? Do you think they'd all like being lumped in together with you at the drop of a hat because the person critiquing you was prone to hyperbole and laziness?

No, I imagine they wouldn't.

Nice list, I agree but I would move Drummond to 3 and move Lillard and Waiters down one spot. This draft has been a real solid one. A lot of players with a bright future.

I'd put Henson in the top 10. (not performance this season of course, but for long term potential). Also, Sullinger and Singler probably deserve some consideration - but that's not a bad list. I'm not a huge MKG fan. I'd probably pick Barnes and maybe Waiters over him. MKG is a terrible shooter.

Edit: I forgot about Vananciunas. I think he can play too.

I agree. Drummond could easily move up if he can prove what he does in more minutes.

Also, Lillard is rocking it this season (it cannot be emphasized enough how big a part of our offense he is, at least until we got Maynor), but the ROY race is no longer a run-away .

He's been alright, but tonight against Dallas was the 1st game where his defense wasn't complete crap. Potential is definitely there, but he has a lot of work to do.
But do you know what they call a fool, who's full of himself and jumps into the path of death because it's cool?

Sorry Sebastian, I've seen you make this comment a couple of times, but it's becoming less and less of a generalization. At the end of the day, if you aren't the one doing it, you don't need to take offense to it. Attacking someone for making what was a pretty simple and legitimate comment/generalization doesn't exactly help the "Blazer" name in this thread.

Got to agree with Sebastian Express on this...I think most Blazer fans are realistic about their rookie and at the same time can appreciate what the others of this class are doing--it's just that ALL of us don't post about it constantly.

Lifelong Blazer fan. Huge Lillard fan. Here's how i'd redraft the top 5 (although given the Blazer track record of bigmen...i'd think twice if I was drafting 1 or 2 for the Blazers, lol)

Drummond
Davis
Lillard
Beal
Waiters

I for one am just really excited about how the whole class is shaking out. I'll admit that I had some serious doubts...it seemed like just about every player coming in had some really serious holes in their games (and granted, most still do). However, you can see the potential in about 20 of the picks including:

Barnes
Ross
Robinson
Henson
Harkless
Nicholson
Sullinger
Zeller

I think this is going to shape up to be a better class than even the pundits predicted.

if the draft was redone today the top 5 would go like:

Davis-Safe pick with Uber upside and fits Pelicans need
Drummond- Arguably most upside, something the Bobcats need
Beal- Great fit, high upside, no regrets.
Waiters- Honestly I thought he'd be a bust, but he's done damn good and fits well next to Irving.
Lillard- Sac could use a franchise saving PG

I think that'd make the most sense based on team need and upside factored in. I'm not sure how the rest shapes up after that.
