I never used the word failure. You did.
I didn't bring up Karl Malone. You did.
We (and Josh) have hit a plateau.
It's time to par ways. At this point, playing here is actually stunting his growth as a player and a person.
PS I expect every player on the court to play hard. Play smart. Play as a team.
My expectations are the same in that regard.

Re: Hawks Big 3 stats for February
I don't hold not winning a championship against Josh. Only one team wins every year, and that team has to be excellent.
I will also NEVER hold a person's lack of ability against them. Sure, it'd be nice if Zaza could make layups on a regular basis, or god forbid dunk the ball. He can't, and I don't hold his lack of finishing against him. I appreciate the things he DOES bring: tenacity and a bulldog mentality, combined with decent rebounding and acceptable defense.
I WILL hold a person's poor judgment, immaturity, and occassional lack of effort against them, and Josh has repeatedly demonstrated all around that he doesn't have the right mental composure to be a team's leader and star player. Sure, he's not as bad as his buddy Dwight, but he's also no Tim Duncan.
A seperation is for the best for both parties. No hard feelings; we had some really great times together. It's just time to move on, that's all.

Problem with the Hawks Big 3 is Jeff Teague
He's just not consistent. He was awful vs the Lakers and had a poor night vs Suns as well
Teague is actually the most inconsistent player, even more than Josh Smith
Teague gets so timid which is so frustrating because he has the athleticism to be such a threat off the dribble, but even Devin Harris who is older and not as athletic does better in that role at times than Teague
Teague basically defines the ceiling of this team and when he plays well we look like world beaters, but when he plays timid we don't
One of the reasons why we've played well vs the Heat for 3 quarter and wet the bed in the 4th quarter is the timidity of Teague

Teague's inconsistency is indeed a concern.
We miss Lou something fierce right now.
I hope Danny Ferry focuses on established vets in free agency; experienced players who play hard, smart, consistent basketball.
