I'd wait until 2014 to acquire another wing player. I'd try to fix the holes at PG and PF in this draft.

Forget position just get the best player and if you get stacked at a spot you can always make trades. Right now this is build up the talent part of rebuilding. Once you have a core of players then can start thinking about filling needs.

The Washington Bullets is still two games up in the win column over Orlando.

I want Smart, but I'm fine with Noel if Henny picks him. He clearly knows what he's doing, so I would be comfortable with Noel being picked.

Tonight's game was a shining example of exactly why Nerlens Noel needs to be the pick if he is on the board.

At this point i still like Smart better than Neol BUT if we do have the number 1 pick then it almost has to be Noel for us. Anything lower than that is Smart no debating

I can see this team bottoming out for a decade after wasting a pick on a lame player who never lives up to what people expected him to be.

Derrick Favors isn't even worth a top 10 pick at this point. No way he is worth a top 2 pick. Maybe, Favors AND Al Jefferson.

Also, I don't think Shved is top 10 worthy either and I don't like the Magic drafting 10-15 in this weak draft. Keep the pick.

Personally, I would trade 2015 1st rounder the Magic got plus Afflalo for a pick falling under 12 or lower to get Burke or Noel if he falls that far.

In the last week alone, Favors has already posted a 23/15 game and a 17/15 game all while playing behind immensely talented big men in Milisap and Jefferson. He was the center piece in a trade for Deron Williams. To consider him not worthy of a top 10 selection in this years draft is entirely off base. He would be a great presence next to Vuc. I would consider him a better prospect than Noel, considering we've seen him have success against NBA level talent.

And once again, to address your pessimistic view of "bottoming out" -

Regardless of who we select in this years draft, we still have a VERY bright future. Hennigan has put us in a position where even if this selection flops, we still have a plethora of young talent. Coupling that with the vast amount of cap space we have available to us in the coming years, I truly find it hard to believe "bottoming out" over the next 10 years is even feasible.

To be a quick and athletic CF or FC shot blocker, great help and team defender and rebounder? He does that now.

If you you would expect him to become some totally different player or have a totally different skillset/tools depending or based on what pick he goes, then that disapointment would be soley on you.

I would expect a player mixed somewhere between the levels of a best case being a taller Ben Wallace and worse case being a Tyson Chandler type.

Favors is also just 21 years old. If he were still at georgia tech he would be the #1 pick this year. if we dont make a deal like this then we should draft shabazz or trade down and draft burke+ ricky ledo

The best answer would be to immediately trade the pick along with our TPE for someone's 2014.

Trade for Bobcat's 2014 unprotected pick? They get this year #1 & #2, we get next year #1 & #2.

Haha. Do they have any awful contracts for us to absorb? Thomas? Gordon? Diop?

Can you imagine them Drafting Noel (or since it's Charlotte, Zeller) and McLemore then throwing a ton of money at Josh Smith and having a top 6 of Walker, MCelemore, MKG, Smith, Noel, Henderson?

It is interesting to see Smart flying up in the poll. A strong tournament will ensure a top-6 pick for this kid. But I cannot see 1 or 2.

Shabazz over Mclemore. Imo, Shabazz will probably end up a more dedicated Vince Carter. Mclemore, I feel, is less dynamic of a player despite his superior athleticism and shooting.

Otherwise, I like Noel as the no. 1. Though, it'd also depend on whether the Magic are currently satisfied with their big men or not.

Smart is a good choice as well.

I think regardless of whether we like our bigs, and we should with prospects like Vuč, Nich, Harris, KOQ - we need more interior D. Noel gives us that.
Rob Hennigan is smarter than you.

Wow such a baseless statement
Noel is the prototype new era defensive big, it's stunning people don't see this

I think if you put McGee back then, he would get those blocks just as easily as Russell did. Russell's athleticism was well ahead of the players of his time, and that's about it.
