And 1 does not work for me when I want to reemphasize. When I quote something, I am making it more visible while putting my signature on the quote. And 1 fails to serve the same purpose. Furthermore, I sometimes want to add just a sentence to highlight a couple of sentences of a longer post, yet And 1 only can act as a blanket statement.

To make it better, you can implement an automatic And 1 rating to a post based on the number of direct quotes that post receives and call it something else. It highlights attention the post gets and gives relevance --perhaps some credibility-- to the post and poster.

The problem you'll run into if this was to be implemented is the speed of the board. Just look at what happens on Draft Day/Trade Deadline.

I just don't see what adding a Negative system would prove. There's already enough "colourful banter" around the boards. A positive ranking would be alright by me. I don't really understand it, but it won't be as hurtful as adding both + and -

Not sure about that because all our graphics are being imported from external sites. Thus, they are not loaded from RealGM. Hence, it is the users personal bandwidth that is effected.

To be honest, I'm not a fan of the new And-1 layout, but then again I hate popups. The way facebook does Likes is better IMO, and in the place where a post will say it's been edited, you could put who liked your post right there, rather than a popup.

Why is the And 1 button now a tiny square in the top right hand corner...?

EDIT: Sometimes a page loads and I get to see the actual button, but other times all I see is a light gray rectangle.

Your browser has the old CSS cached. Try to perform a hard refresh with CTRL+R to fix it.

The And 1 button should really be the same size and have the same style as the quote and report buttons (with respect to the border and height in particular).

RealGM administrators and developer,

I can see the progress in the "And 1" is going really well. Thanks.

The page no longer refreshes once you "And 1" something. I like having the "And 1" there one the corner.

The only suggustions I have left are:
1) Do what Gek said and make it proportional and the same size as the "Quote" button.
2) Once a post has 5 "And 1s", Highlight the post background with a color or place a gold start by the post title
3) Do not allow posters to "And 1" themselves.

This suggestion is a coin-toss. I like it, but I do not think it is fair for the posters who made thousands of post well before this "And 1" implementation.
4) Total the number of "And 1s" a user has had during their RealGM career.

This suggestion is not fair for the veteran posters. A new poster might have 1000 post with 200 "And 1s", while a veteran poster might have 10,000 posts with 200 "And 1s". It gives a misrepresentations to people who read posts.

Unless RealGM decides to reset everybody's post count, I say leave suggestion number 4 out.

I am really a big fan of suggestion number 4. Therefore, if it were up to me, I would reset everybody's post count under their avatar and archive their previous post count on their profile page.

I like this feature but I think it'll go unused if it doesn't display the people who clicked the And1 button under the post.

Since most And1s are at 0 due it to not being very popular at the moment, the posts that did get an And1 don't really stand out at all, so I think people will just think it's a waste of time if no one is going to notice.
