If you have ANY cap room, you do NOT get to use the full MLE. You get an exception for 2.5M only(NOT 5M) Commish needs to address this.

Then what's the point of having the full MLE if you have the 5mil capspace anyway? Can't you just to a regular signing then?

And I asked about the MLE and the response I got was that I could do it.

There's basically two options if you have $5m cap space or less.

1. Use your remaining cap space - and then you can use the Mini MLE ($2.5m).
2. Don't use your cap space - and then you can use the Full MLE ($5m)

It's fairly straightforward. What you absolutely can't do is sign players with cap space and then use the Full MLE. By using your cap space you are declining your right to the Full MLE.

For teams entering FA with $60-74m salary, they get the Full MLE to use. And the BAE.

For teams entering FA with $75m+ salary, they get the Small MLE to use. No BAE.
There is no consolation prize. Winning is everything.

What would be the use of the Full MLE if you have the capspace for it? Shouldn't it be just called 5mil (or more) capspace? What's the use of MLE in that scenario? Shouldn't MMLE be the only thing relevant?

What if you enter FA with under 60mil, sign agents and still be under 60mil. And then use full MLE ?

There's no use for it. But if you have $4.9m in cap space it could be more prudent to use the MLE rather than cap space because that $100k difference means everyone with MLE will outbid you. So then you take the calculated risk on offering the MLE or cap space plus Mini MLE.

To answer your second point - you can't use cap space to sign anyone, then use the Full MLE. When you spend cap space money, you forfeit the MLE.

BTW if anyone is aware of teams using cap space and Full MLE to sign players, please post here, or email the commissioner with the details. Thanks,

You can apparently PM me on here now too. :D :D
Jake0890 wrote:I signed Landry w/ straight cap space, correct. I'll edit in the correct raises.

But why can't Hamilton and Belinelli both be signed with the MLE?
Because you can only use the mini-MLE, as most people have said above already. Any other questions, email or PM me, and we'll work it out, but you have to choose between the two.

Andray Blatche / Bismack Biyombo
Demarcus Cousins / Byron Mullens / Antawn Jamison / Jeff Adrien / Mirza Teletovic
Gerald Wallace / JR Smith / Perry Jones III
Terrence Ross / Nick Young / Brandon Roy
Kemba Walker / Ramon Sessions
plus numerous picks

I'm just looking to free up playing time for my core guys. There's just way too much depth here and some needs to go.

Everyone's on the table but Cousins and Kemba (they're there if you feel like overpaying though or feel like giving me a top 5-10 value player for them both). Jamison and Roy aren't eligible to be traded yet though, due to the 72 hour rule. Looking for a legit center or an excellent combo forward that can play the 4 full-time to pair with Cousins.

Ross, Biyombo, Jones, and Mullens will be moved only to upgrade for a star caliber young player (a Batum, Paul George type talent).

Teletovic is not a bad contract, just don't need him, but I'll include him in a trade to make salaries meet, same deal with Roy or Jamison, who are here to be veteran leaders (or even player coaches, something Roy definitely could be). Sessions is an elite bench player, as are JR and Young, all are available for the right price as well. Jeff Adrien is an Evans-like dirty work guy and is valued as such. Blatche is ready to turn his career around and needs a better home to do that- I'm open to trades for him as well. I won't ask too much, but fair value.

To all contenders/playoff teams: I'm putting Devin Harris on the market. He's making 8.5mil$ this year and would be a great back-up/decent starting PG.

Kevin Martin/Jared Cunningham/Rasheed Suliamon
Danny Granger/Chase Budinger
Thomas Robinson/Patrick Patterson/Arnett Moultrie
Andre Drummond/Dejuan Blair/Vyacheslav Kravtsov/Steven Adams

Pretty happy with my roster right now. Would really like to move some of my backup bigs for some backup wings so let me know as i have a surplus of good young big men.

PG: Chris Paul / Ronnie Price
SG: Mickael Pietrus / Daequan Cook / DeAndre Liggins
SF: Carlos Delfino / LeBryan Nash
PF: LaMarcus Aldridge / Ronny Turiaf / Victor Claver
C: Dwight Howard / DeSagana Diop

CP3/D12 are off-limits, so don't ask. LMA is going to be extremely tough to part ways with. IF I do decide to move him, it's going to be for a small downgrade and a significant upgrade at either SG or SF and probably another asset or two. LMA is the best PF in the league IMO. Outside of that, looking to consolidate pieces mainly to add salary to my roster. Open to some offers.

I'm not looking to break players down, only looking to upgrade by packaging my bench players.

Utah has received some trade offers and AOL won't allow me to reply. They have posted a Problem for MAC users, but I have been unsuccessful on MAC and PC. Sorry. None of the offers would be accepted but I have tried to reply (and would counter).

Amare with 22 in back to back games without melo the biggest ball stopper in the league. remember just last year when melo was out and the knicks were a better team. Amare has a 22 per and is shooting 59% from the field this year. i wont say he isnt overpaid but he was an mvp candidate the year before the knicks got melo. He can still ball.
