Kobe's incredible longevity/amazing play since ASG (Merges)
Kobe in this last stretch to the playoffs has been playing better than Lebron lately. It is remarkable. Kobe has literally been the best player in this league after the all star break without a doubt. Credit Lebron but he is playing on a young stacked team that he chose to join because he could not win a ring on his own.
Kobe on the other hand is literally hulking this injured old team to the playoffs by doing these insane impossible moves, driving to the hole, dunking on josh smith...kobe is owning this league...it is scary and fun to watch at the same time.
And you know what Kobe didn't have to join another champion to win a ring like Lebron did. Kobe did it on his own winning five, and still showing he can still dominate today. If Dwight can get healthier and Gasol gets healthier this team could win a ring this year.

really another thread about kobes play? one can argue about his excellent play at his age/mileage vs lebron. but hes not as efficient as lebron. Go to the gb and praise him there.

Let's just look at kobe and lebron's most recent game to prove your theory wrong:
Lebron against Orlando: 26 points 50% shooting, 2 assists, 2 rebounds
Kobe against Pelicans..: 42 points 67% shooting, 12 assists, 7 rebounds
Pretty obvious kobe is more efficient and is playing better.

"And you know what Kobe didn't have to join another team to win a ring like Lebron did. Kobe did it on his own winning five"
shaq was the mvp for the first 3 and until he got pau gasol they did not reach the finals. once pau got there they went to the finals 3 years in a row and he always had dfish there to hit clutch shots as well. kobe did not do it by himself. i love kobe hes an amazing player, and especially great at this stage of his career. but the heat are on a 15 game winning streak and not because lebron is playing like an average player, the guy is shooting 56% and had the stretch of 30+ points at 60%+ shooting. kobe may be in the mvp talks but lebron is leaps and bounds ahead of everyone in that category, hes on route to his 4th mvp.

then you conviently used their respective last game to prove your point? very bad trolling, you need better trolling instructors.

so one game proves the whole story?
SEASON NUMBERS
Kobe = 27.60 ppg .475 fg% .339 3pt% 23.52 PER (ranked number 11)
LeBron = 26.98 ppg .562 fg% .400 3pt% 31.40 PER (ranked number 1)
LeBron is also averaging more rebounds, assists, steals, blocks, and less turnovers and personal fouls
its not even a question as to who is having the better season.....

Re: Kobe is playing better than Lebron
First of all, you make it really hard for people to think you're not a huge troll...
You compare literally just Kobe vs Lebron's last game to prove some point.. while somehow also bringing up how Lebron had to join a champion to win a ring while Kobe just was amazing doing it all himself.
The "joining Wade to win it so the ring doesn't count" excuse is beyond pathetic so we'll just ignore that.
Now back to the actual thread... Lebron is the best in the league this year and the MVP, but you do have a point and we do have to give Kobe a lot of credit for his recent ABSURD play.
Lebron since ASG:
9W-0L
25pts, 8reb, 8ast, 2stl
54.3%FG, 28.6% 3s
Kobe since ASG:
6W-2L
33pts, 6reb, 6ast, 1stl
54.4%FG, 42.5% 3s
Kobe is getting more pts and has actually been more efficient from all areas, but Lebron has more reb, ast, stl, blk, and less TO (so everything besides the scoring categories).
You can have an argument for Kobe being up there as the best player since the break but it's just marvelous how he's pulling this **** out of no where and saving the team time and time again.

Kobe has been playing better than Lebron in this last stretch. Season wise it is lebron, just like career wise it is kobe. But it is more important to play better in the last stretch than it is to play early on in the season.

lol gtfo...Kobe has freaking Steve Nash and Dwight Howard on his team, its not like he's playing with Smush and Chris Mihm.
Kobe is balling, if we had one of the top records he woulda been a candidate for MVP. But we're a .500 team so thats all moot at this point.

I watch both teams. I did take the last game as an example. Yes it is one game but that one game is basically how Kobe has been since the all star break. I don't need to look at stat sheets to know who has been the better player after the all star break.
Yes we have howard, but an injured howard not himself. Yes we have Nash and the dude is a general and makes chalmers look like moonpie. But with Lebron having the 2nd best SG in the league by his side, along with Chris Bosh and Ray Allen all healthy is a far greater luxury than having an injured Dwight playing 50%, and Gasol out on injury.

Oh man, what an awful thread. His proof that he is playing better is using one game. If you're going to troll man, at least make it better

Kobe's incredible longevity and continued greatness (Merges)
Listening to national sports radio (Colin Cowherd), reading blogs/threads (realgm GB) and also reading articles on ESPN. More than 80% of the Kobe haters are stating that the guy is on steroids with not an ounce of proof to prove it. To me this could be the absolute most disrespectful thing you can say to a guy that works as hard as Kobe does to be this great in his 17th year. The guy will to win rings for himself and this franchise is what keeps him going but what people single out is how bad he has looked the past 2 seasons (for his standards) and supposely how great he looks this season.
Ummm could it be that he is actually healthy (knee) and in great shape this season. He dropped 16lbs remember this past offseason to help with his speed and explosiveness (less weight on the knees) People forget 2 years ago he was on 1 leg for a full season. Then the following season he had a jacked up wrist that was suppose to keep him out for a month but he decided to play on it for the season. There is an article out from a guy that worked Kobe out this summer while in camp for team USA. I suggest some of you read it just to get an idea of how hard this guy works and how committed he is to winning rings.
http://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/19o38z/hi_rnba_my_name_is_robert_and_im_an_athletic/
The guy had a procedure done in Germany that is legal (its his own blood)and I suggest people read into it because it seems everybody....everywhere are MD's now and just KJNOW its more than it is
http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/7796225/kobe-bryant-dr-chris-renna-regenokine-knee-treatment
I just feel its a total disrespect to everything this guy has built and accomplished in his career to not just appreciate what he is doing this season. This topic is getting sickening to me. Just because everybody feels you should be done doesnt mean for a guy like Kobe he has to accept that logic. Follow the guys career he uses things like this as a challenge and wants to prove all the doubters wrong. On top of that A-rod, Tmac, Jermaine O'Neal, Hines Ward, Andrew Bynum and Gilbert Arenas all have had the same exact operation done in Germany and tell me how great each of them have looked this season??
Keep up the good work Kobe and lead us back to the top sir. This team and season isnt over yet

Yeah, Kobe is only 34...not 40. He is still at around his peak. He just keeps himself in shape. Not that unusual. At 34 you can still be at your peak if you work hard and take care of your body.
Look at Nash for example. He was at his peak at 34 and scored and assisted at his highest #'s ever at around that age.

Nash was an admitted late bloomer... And doesn't have near the miles on him that Kobe has.
No matter how you slice it, what Kobe's doing is almost unheard of. Like they say, Age is just a number... If you punish your body like Kobe has for the last 17 years, it doesn't matter a whole lot when you started. You're old...
Never have rice at Hanzo's house...
