FINALLY they got this guy on the national basketball stage! I felt utter joy when I heard his voice when i turned on the clippers-nuggets game just now...

all these announcers were the reason why i still watched games when the team sucked. It always felt like a TNT game.

It's bittersweet to be honest.

On one hand it makes watching other games even more entertaining because Ian is just that awesome, but on the other hand this gives him more exposure which ups the chances that he moves on to bigger things than calling Nets games... which would SUCK (for us).

He already does NFL, college basketball and the March Madness tournament. He's always been a household name.

Exactly, his voice has been heard throughout the country calling NFL games, he always does the NCAA Tourney, does NBA Action on NBA TV, during the off season usually in the summer he subs in on WFAN...I believe he will begin to be phased in for NBA TNT games as Marv's role decreases...but I still see him doing p/t w/ the Nets for the rest of his career...

He could potentially do the same thing Mike Breen does w/ the Knicks and the # of nationally NBA televised games he fits in, etc...

He also does Tennis and Olympic events. The guy is incredibly versatile and a great commentator at all events.
