I think it's both. Brooks agreed to a buyout and was waived.

Adrian Wojnarowski ‏@WojYahooNBA
Brooks is a free agent now, but sources say he will work to finalize a deal to return to the Houston Rockets.

He cleared waivers

I still remember the full court lob, Brooks punished the Lakers for 7 games

He has defensive issues and a few headcase-like outbursts, but I really want him as a spark off the bench for the playoffs.

He rises to the occasion for the intensity and he could help us win an upset game here and there.

He'll also have the perfect role as a floor spacer off the bench, so his streaky shooting is hidden with less volume scoring demands.

I don't see him getting minutes over Beverly's great defensive effort though, who is also shooting/playing very well. Perhaps if Delfino is cold at SG and Beverly is playing poorly?

1) anyone can do that on Fisher, he's slow.

2) I was expecting an insane Nate Robinson-style alley-oop dunk. Quite disappointed with the ending. This is a better video:

I can see us go with this during small ball and using Lin as attacker when Harden is resting.

D-mo
Parson
Delfino
Lin
Brooks

Gives us 4 deadly shooters with Lin being able to attack the rim whenever he wants. Hell, u can even put Harden in there instead of Lin. It will pretty much be open lane for him as all of them are deadly shooters.

Damn our team became pretty interesting.

Bench Rotation:
Asik
Parsons
Garcia
Harden
Brooks

Small ball rotation:
D-mo
Parsons
Harden
Lin
Brooks

All of them can shoot from far away and u got two penetrators in Lin /Harden.

Ron ron on how commited he is to the team.

That Cleveland rumor really did not make sense since the Cavs are not going to make the playoffs this year. Though Irving only missed 3 games so maybe if his injury were more serious they might have tried to claim Brooks. They have Shaun Livingston and Boobie Gibson as points.

naw The ones I posted are better, they hold sentimental value... they are clips of Brooks from the playoff series where Houston was the only team to take the Lakers to game 7 that year... Yao, McGrady, Mutombo all injured.

Bitter sweet I thought we would come back and win it all but McGrady was done, traded. Yao played like 6 more games over the next two years I think.

This is from March 2012, game 1 of the CBA Finals. What a lousy call.

Marbury (Beijing) 36 points 6 rebounds 5 assists 4 steals
Brooks (Guangdong) 36 points 5 rebounds 3 assists 3 steals

What a classy gesture to the Kings. I remember Brooks having a poor attitude after coming back an injury and being benched for Lowry. Hopefully, he has no more hard feelings with the Rockets and will start anew. He was a great shooter with and without the ball and I think he'll be particularly useful especially in moments when Harden looks to dominate the ball. His defense is flat out terrible so he will fit right in with the rest of the team.

Just some info about the buyout (Per ESPN):

http://espn.go.com/nba/dailydime/_/page ... ekend-dime

One source with knowledge of the deal told ESPN.com that Brooks surrendered just under $3.4 million of the $6.6 million guaranteed in his Sacramento deal for the right to be bought out and return to free agency after clearing waivers.

We talk about having a bad attitude all the time with pro sports, and the truth is that it's all in how someone handles things inside, but it's not always that easy to handle huge disappointments in a wholly professional manner.

Oh yeah, absolutely. You're absolutely right. If I were in Brooks' shoes, I think I would have had a similar attitude/body language. It's hard to handle this type of situation is to say nothing, find was to improve, and let the work/game do all the talking, but these guys are humans before they are professional athletes. The NBA is an extremely competitive field and the media and fans can be unforgiving because of their high earning potential and the national spotlight that they receive.

It takes a great deal of maturity to realize and act upon this, and I think he handled it very well despite how unfavorable things were in Sacramento.

So does that mean the Kings paid him $3.2M this year, and the Rockets will pay him another $2.5M for the rest of this year, for a total of $5.7M? That's a pretty sweet deal for him.

Honestly i felt sorry for AB over here at the Kings, very bad situation, with a very bad coach who buried him as a 12th man some nights and then played him big minutes the next. Never got into a rhythm over here.

Had some nice games though and his quickness and first step is still stunning.

Good luck to him, classy player.
