I don't really understand why we're signing another shooting guard...but....

I was wondering about that too. If this signing goes through, I think it could be a solid low risk move, much like the DeMarre signing last year. Leslie probably wouldn't play much (if at all) this year and might not amount to anything for us, but I don't have a problem with taking a chance on a super athletic wing who can rebound, defend, and finish. It seems like he could be a pretty intriguing prospect if he develops a jump shot (which, if his D-League stats are any indication, he's working on).

I see why not having some new talent. I don't know of him, but with the right price who really cares?

machado, selby and honeycutt are still out there unsigned. i'd rather go after one of them. i'm ok with it though. he will be fun to watch.

oh, wait a minute - will coach ty ever let him see the court? just another guy to be looked over in favor of the vets. i don't see why we bother...

If the Jazz are signing this guy, who isn't necessarily a position of need, they must see something in him that they want to keep longterm. This smells of a DeMarre situation all over again. Intriguing young player if he could become a decent role player. He's freakishly athletic, and a great defensive player from what I've read.

Imagine how exciting of a team we'd be if we revisited talks with the Clips for Bledsoe, and found a way to acquire him. I don't know how many games we'd win, but we sure as hell would be more fun to watch.

I don't get the infatuation with machado. No one wants him. If this guy can practice hard hes earning his pay.

This. I LOVE Machado. True PG. I don't think people realize that PG is the one position in basketball that skill trumps athletic ability. Which is so strange to me that there is this infatuation with super-athletic PGs nowadays. Give me a skilled PG over an athletic PG any day of the week. Unless he is skilled AND athletic, than that's just a bonus.

So, DeShawn part 2?
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

Yes, PGs have to be athletic "enough" though. Kendall's athleticism is down near the bottom in NBA standards, if not the very bottom. Someone like Machado seems athletic "enough." And Machado can actually shoot too. Kendall's offensive game, besides his passing, is pretty much non-existint.

Maybe the Jazz will waive Tinsley who had his issue with Ty.

Just based on his DNPs before he left for family issue. This is a little odd signing since we have Murphy at the same spot, maybe Murphy could be released.

well, that doesn't necessarily indicate he had issues with corbin. maybe he's fatigued - he's not a young guy anymore, and at least part of the family issue was related to a funeral, so maybe he's just having problems focusing on basketball right now. i'd like to give corbin the benefit of doubt on this one and not jump to conclude he has\had issues with tinsley until we know more.
