Hawks - Celtics Smackdown Part 3

Post#1 » by Jamaaliver » Sat Mar 9, 2013 12:22 am

We's in PrimeTime, ya'll!!!

Image

STARTERS
Teague ----------> Bradley
D Harris ----------> C. Lee
Smoove -----------> Pierce
'Boss' Horford ----------> Bass
Johan Petro --------> Garnett

BOSTON – The Hawks will be short two big men tonight versus the Celtics meaning Johan Petro will get his first start of the season.

Zaza Pachulia (right Achilles) missed this third straight game with a reoccurrence of the ailment. He did not travel with the team. Also, Ivan Johnson (personal reasons) did not travel to Boston. Their status for Saturday’s game against the Nets is uncertain.

“It certainly changes our rotations,” coach Larry Drew said. “Down a big man chances are we’ll be playing smaller a lot. We’ll just have to keep a close eye on certain matchups. I’m going to have to use guys a little bit differently than I have all year because we are shorthanded with the big men. We’ll adapt.”

Despite the missing big men, the Hawks will start Petro in an attempt to match size with the Celtics. Petro was effective against the Lakers Sunday when he had six points, eight rebounds, four steals, two blocks and one assist in 24 minutes.

We need to play through Horford tonight, Bass won't have a chance at guarding him

Lots of threes being taken and made tonight.

That should play to our advantage.

No one will ever mistake John Jenkins for a Point Guard.

Looks like good Teague showed up tonight.

But, man. Avery Bradley is a Helluva defender.

We gotta get one of those guys next year. Great defender, but still a threat on offense.

Classic Josh Smith.

2 terrible shots...followed by a couple of very nice plays.

Man, that kid drives me crazy.

If he would only stop shooting so many threes.....<sigh>

I was ready to curse Larry Drew if he didn't put Korver back in the game. Good thing he did.

Just got in for the 4th. WHY are we so stupid with the clock? Tied game, we get the rebound with 38 seconds to go, instead of going for a quick shot to get 2 possessions, we dribble slowly and call a timeout.

AND, as I typed this, Smith tries a behind-the-back pass, turning the ball over. BOS has the ball for the last shot.

We are sooooooo stupid.

Then Pierce burns way too much clock. That was kinda dumb....not as dumb as Smiths turnover. Because...yeah...Jesus. I am almost dizzy because I have been shaking my head for like 3 minutes now.

Drew _didn't_ draw up a good 'un.

Leading by 2, Smith shoots a 3. Wow. Million dollar talent, nickel brain.
