Combo guard.

At first I was hesitant for the same reason, but after thinking about it, it would be a good pick to make, especially considering all the 2 PG lineups Rick likes to run. Smart could play either alongside Ricky or he could easily run the team on his own too.

Why take a COMBO guard when there will most likely be Shooting guards that are available.

We arnt playing 3 PG sets beccause we want to. Its because we have no SG's on our roster.

If he's the BPA who cares if he's a combo guard or SG?

For the record, I like Smart and I think he's an NBA player, but he hasn't had enough glimpses of potential to justify taking a PG - 6'4 though he may be - that hasn't shot the ball well and isn't an elite athlete when there are going to be names on the board that have proven a lot more and fit the position and skill needs a lot better.

If they just can't get over that they think he's head and shoulders the BPA, then take him, but I don't know where that kind of confidence would come from at this point - you could only justify it on vague observations and hunches, the track record isn't there right now. Right now I'm seeing Jrue Holiday best case career trajectory. That's a solid addition for sure, but it's not something you bet the house on.

I could take him over Zeller and Len, but I think taking him over Porter and Oladipo is really asking for being ripped on for the next 2 years and pissing of the easily prone to pissoffable Kevin Love.

I've got no opinion on Smart, I haven't seen him at all but the ability to play PG isn't a negative. If he can't play SG that's an issue.

1) a lot of bail-out shots at the end of the clock;
2) poor shot selection.

His set jumper is good.

If we're not in a position to get McLemore or Noel we should trade the pick or trade up to get one of them. Those are the only two guys in the draft that provide something the team desperately needs now and for the future and at this point it's about filling needs not drafting backups to fill a future role. If we can't trade the pick or trade up for some reason and we end up around 9, I guess I'd go for Len knowing that he'd at least be serviceable off the bench which is something we need and has a decent chance to be a solid center for the future.

Liking the bigs in this Kansas vs Baylor game. They could both fall to us with our Memphis pick. McLemore is also looking really great. I agree that Noel or McLemore is the way to go for us. The rest of the players just have too many questions about them. I still think we should be able to get either Afflalo or Gordon for our assets anyway.

cory jefferson is a fricken beast! mcelmore is clearly gifted and extremely talented but he's not imposing his will on the game, i like that he is unselfish and moves the ball very well but i think he's only had 4-5 attempts early in the second half.

We have no need for smart. Shved already fills that role.

I think a good option for us would be to trade Derrick Williams for the bobcats pick. They need some frontcourt scoring, something that they wont find in the draft.

It'd have to be Derrick Williams +

Yeah, we'd have to have a high pick from lottery luck to be able to land Charlotte's pick. #3 or #4 plus D-Will would do it probably. I'd rather have D-Will coming off the bench and the #3 or #4 pick than McLemore.

I would give Dwill and our pick for a top 2-3 pick if we are not a top 5..without hesitation.

At the moment, looking at how we are playing now and how we will play once Love/Bud come back.

I would be happy with our two first round picks being

Olapido and Jamaal Franklin

So either Shved would be your 3rd string SG or we'd be paying a guaranteed contract to someone who likely never sees the court (ie Ellington, Hayward)

TO be honest we want to trade that second first rounder.

Anyone we grab there (if we are innjury free, which we never are) will play very limited minutes.
