Fun stat of the night, Damian Lillard is the first ever rookie to get 35pts, 9asts and 0 TO's since the turnover became a statistic in 78-79.

Add that to Lillard's resume as a first of many first for a rookie.

I hate stats like that. They just find ways of making it a "first ever"

If someone else did it they would have added 3 rebounds or shooting percentage or whatever else to the equation.

35-9 and 0 turnovers has only happened nine times before though.

Bird and Alex English did it twice, World B Free, Magic, Stephen Jackson, Jason Kidd, and Walter Davis did it once.

Larry Johnson didn't score 35, but we can add him to this list as he did 34 points, 14 rebounds, 9 assists, 0 turnovers in his rookie season as well.

I call those ESPN stats. And yeah I don't really like them either but some are impressive and exclusive to good company even if they are random.

U mad the Blazers are 21-0 when I watch them with the sun angled at approximately 42.14 degrees to the north and the wind is blowing at exact 13 miles per hour east?

My favorite ones were the random Rondo ones they would keep doing last year

Lol Nice! Add that to the HOF checklist. "Only player to get 20/18 on 45% shooting as a teen."

In the long run, it's probably going to be a lot better for us going forward that Davis isn't dominant from the jump. More premium picks, we just can't make Austin Rivers type mistakes anymore.

I think Rivers' will be at least a 7th man combo guard rotation guy and his ceiling, to me, is starting PG. The kid will get good and prove he was worth the pick. Just my opinion though. This is also after I started to really give up on him, he showed signs before the injury his skillset was NBA level.

Wouldnt you say Rivers has improved, since the beginning? especially on D, whuch I think most people have overlooked. He's become darn solid on that end, and has taken small steps on offense(VERY SMALL, but progress nonetheless) I think he'll become a solid player by yr 3.

But an even more imprortant question I must ask everyone about us picking him: WHO HAS ACTUALLY PLAYED BETTER THAN HIM AFTER THE 10TH SPOT IN THE DRAFT?
Seriously. think real hard about the players taken after Rivers and think to yourself " Just how bad do I really wish we had that guy instead of Rivers?" Lamb? Jones? Harkless? Zeller? Sullinger? Perry J? Ross? Meyers Leonard?
Do you look at them and go "DAMN, we really screwed up that opportunity" or "We did the best we could" ?
Cause I dont feel virtually any regret lookin at whats left.
