Mike D'Antoni unsuccessfully tried to convince the front office of the Los Angeles Lakers to sign Raja Bell if he agreed to a buyout from the Utah Jazz.

D'Antoni coached Bell during their time together with the Suns.

The Lakers didn't feel that Bell was worth adding more salary and tax to their already massive bill.
