In regards to #Pistons upcoming summer of cap space, owner Tom Gores told me he wants to "go for it".

Meaning he's willing to spend big money this summer.

Bynomite is getting a big raise, CV is getting an extension and we will get a lot more of Jason MaxDEAL.

Hopefully it means we amnesty CV so we have more money to spend.

I'm not sure what that means, but I hope it doesn't mean 5 more years of cap hell.

Better than 5 more years with a bunch of capspace and no talent. Watching them get blown out by 30 again this team needs some major additions this offseason. Glad to hear Gores is willing to spend.

We are now 1-31 our last 32 games on the road vs West teams.

After watching tonight's game, I would rather be mediocre. Atleast in mediocrity there is always the small chance everything clicks and get to the ECF

I'd take that as a Max offer for Mayo... Would not go to the bank on out-biding Cuban... it could lead to long delays and possibly ending up with table scraps

I have a feeling Cuban is going to tank next year and sign some guys in 2014 + Nice draft pick .

mayo may not command a max contract but hes gonna get one and if we go after him thats what itll take. no way dallas just lets him walk for anything less than that. not sure if i like that idea, but i do want to go after him -- just need to figure out the jose/bk situation. im not sure if i want jose back as a starter.

im not sure on what else i want until after the draft.

The other thought is that Mr. Gores may want to get in line behind other teams that may be more attractive with max $'s to spend... I still maintain that using the space on trades will be the smarter course of action.

so do i but to get the talent we need, we need to give up more than cap space and right now we cant be giving away picks or players.

Hopefully after watching tonight's game first-hand he is even more committed to upgrading our mediocre roster.

This scares me....A LOT!

He's going to let Dumars spend, which means we're likely going to offer MAX money to one of:

Mayo
Josh Smith
Monta Ellis
JR Smith
Iggy

i wouldnt be too worried about jr getting a max. dude is a party animal and i dont think joe would go that route. i like him for a mid-level type deal but not on a young roster.

monta or josh getting a max deal scares me. im ok with josh if we deal gmoe in a s&t but we better be getting more than just josh back..

mayo is my #1 guy but i think hes going to get a max deal; he may not command that, but hes getting one.

iggy really wants to stay in denver and unless he takes a pay cut i dont want him anymore. he would help if our roster was better but its clear we'll still need more than just this off-season. our team still has no real direction.

Why does that scare you?.. 3 out of 4(No sir to JR Smith) of those players you listed are good...I'm not saying we should throw the MAX at those players, but I wouldn't mind spending big for good talent...
