Brook Lopez pisses me off so much on rebounding. He is not a bad rebounder, he just literally chooses not to rebound.

he will just box out a PJ 10 feet from the basket and watch other Nets go for the ball.

on free throws he just runs on offense as the shot is in the air

he could easily average 10 if he just wanted to

Freudian slip?

And honestly for me, it's not so much the numbers. If he was averaging 8.5rpg if he was actually playing 34 or 35 minutes a game that's fine, but it's certain situations where it's really detrimental.

Like to compare someone like Love, it's not that I look at his crazy rebound per game averages and say that automatically makes him a better player... but it's sequences like those two in the 2nd half, think both in the 4th quarter where on the one Hawes got the offensive rebound over him, misses the put back, then steals the offensive rebound from him again and puts it back and then the other one he gets the offensive rebound over him and gets I think an And 1 and both times they were rebounds Brook should have flat out got, he was just out hustled or wasn't there mentally and let it get away. Love would have NEVER let those get away. And it doesn't just have to be Love, I used him as an example because of his gaudy numbers and that he's a hot topic of speculation here. It could have even been a player like Horford who to me Lopez is definitely better then overall, but that's a play right there you are rarely going to see Horford allow and it's one you'll see Lopez allow probably 50% or more of the time and this is to a half scrub like Hawes.

Atleast we didn't lose ground on the Knicks but this loss is terrible now that they lost. Atleast, we will/should win tomorrow and make up ground when they get killed on Wednesday.

Hey these are much appreciated man, you would have got a lot more love if the Nets didn't lose.

Followed this game on my phone and I don't get how Brook gets touches in the first half and never gets any in the second half. Good to see DWill continue his strong play.

I read the 76ers were doubling DWill 25 feet away from the basket because Evans was in. Then read PJ benched Wallace, who matches up well at the 4, because he wasn't getting it done offensively. What the hell does Evans ''get done''?

Very disappointing loss, but it happens. Can't win every one. Not going to go ballistic in a game where our three guys played well -- at least offensively, judging by the box score.

Tele's so much more valuable when he plays with the starters than the bench.

How did Wallace not get any burn at the 4 that game?

Lopez/Blatche together? not at all

Brook Lopez got like 4 shot attempts after he dominated the 1st.

Our PF rotation is the literal opposite of where they rank as PFs.

Blatche > Hump/Teletovic/Wallace > Evans

Offensively, our 3 guys showed up big time, for sure. But defensively, none of them were good, especially Lopez, who got destroyed by Hawes. His defense and effort on the boards was pretty bad.

Yeah, it happens, and I'm a little more calm now. Can't win every game you're supposed to. But we've got a tough stretch coming up, and we really needed to fatten up on these next 3 games including this one to make up some serious ground, and we let an opportunity slip away.

And it wasn't even a game where we just didn't have it...Lopez, D-Will, and JJ were all hot and were really clicking offensively. When they're having games like that, and we're going up against a subpar team, there's really no excuse to lose. That's why this game hurts so much, at least personally.

Another game which proves we are not an elite team, and that we will never move into the top 3. Can't wait to get bounced by the 5th seed in the first round.

oh and the handling of Lopez is IDIOTIC. Hes always taken out for long stretches for no reason, even though hes our best player. Its a joke.

you're a joke.

losses happen in the NBA, one game doesn't prove ****.

all of you overreact to every single game so much.

right cause this is the only game we have lost to an inferior team or looked like crap on defense

So, how much is Gerald Wallace being paid again?

I don't even get upset anymore...It's obvious as long as Reggie Evans is starting for this team we are going to be playing short handed for the rest of this season...I like Reggie but he's not a good basketball player and he should not be starting for this team...I'm not blaming him solely but he has to be taken out of the starting spot because there is no upside to his game, he will not improve and come playoff time good teams will exploit his game.

We have one of if not the best record in the league against sub .500 teams.

We also have a pretty bad record against teams above .500.

Petro is complaining (and rightfully so) about an issue that continually occurs over and over again. It doesn't matter what our record is against teams below .500.

The only reason why they were in the game is because our defense is that bad, and outside of the previous game, it's been pretty bad for most of the season. The main reason why we can beat teams under .500 is because our talent alone can win most of those games.

What this game shows is that even a team that has been underwhelming and is under .500 can beat soundly if we continue to put forth these type of defensive efforts.
