I guess resigning him depends on the way he plays until the end of the season. He has good range and athleticism and is a good defender, but IMO he has to work on his shot selection and on being more consistent offensively.

I think the Suns are going to resign him, especially because Hunter seems to like him a lot. I guess if he finishes the season strong his salary will be on the same level as Shannon Brown's (3-5 mil).

I do not want Wes back next year.Probably for the minimun, if we need to fill the complete roster.

In my opinion,we have to sign this summer 2 good wing players (via draft, trade or FA).
I want Jared Dudley back( like a sixth man) and P.J Tucker ( like bench player, around 15 minutes per game), but
Shannon Brown, Wesley Jhonson and Michael Beasley are not a players for a good team, they are not eficients at all.

I think they let him go.

If they do keep him, it'll be close to the min. He's playing better, but that doesn't mean he's playing particularly well: http://www.brightsideofthesun.com/2013/ ... #149082901

You think or hope :D

I could care less, I like him, but I don't want to spend very much money on him......that is the issue. I think it depends on who we draft. I believe it is between Wes and Marcus on who goes and stays; so far, I think Marcus has him beat.....by a little.

I think and hope that he goes, unless our trades remove other wings and/or we decide to draft a Center (god please no).

PJ Tucker is a keeper on Hunters mentality, I see no chance that we traded for Marcus Morris on a lost season to let him go in the offseason (and he and Kieff have this physical mentality that also fit into Hunter's system). Dudley is signed for a longer term at a good contract. And Dragic has been experimented playing as a SG a bit. And then he is always smiling, which to me goes against Hunter's mentality

There isn't really much space for him in the roster. Maybe at very cheap cost

he looks creepy he smiles every second when he doesn't even produce. He had a few decent games and that's only because he is in a contract year. Release the scrub and save the cap space for meaningful talent. Let him play like the real Wesley Johnson and have fluke games to tease people elsewhere. I'm sick of this team hoarding the scrubs of other teams just because they were top draft picks (he was a reach on draft day too). Tank, scout well, and let's bring in some REAL talent. He has no desire to be great

Well I hope that the team looks very different next year, because this group of guys is leading us to our 2nd worst record ever :(.

Nobody's untouchable to me. Even Goran(although he's the closest thing this franchise has to a cornerstone) should be available in a trade if it makes us better.

Beasley and Brown are useless.
Scola and Gortat are decent players, but we're not in a place where we can fully take advantage of what they bring us.
Dudley and Tucker are the ultimate glue guys.
Morri are interesting, but neither one stands out.
Marshall...let's see how he does next year.
Jermaine and Frye might not even play next season.
Wes doesn't look like he'll be offered a contract next season.
Dragic is decent...sometimes very good, but it looks like he's a 14-18 pts, 6-8 assists kind of guy.

We're in rough shape.

I'm torn on Wes, I guess it depends on who we draft, trade, trade for and who is available in free agency and if he continues to improve from this point (confidence, ball handling, etc). I would not be shocked to not see Gortat, Duds, and Scola on our roster next year, I think there is a good chance they all get traded. Not that thats what I want, but wouldnt be suprised. And for the record if Shannon Brown is retained you guys will start hearing stories about how he couldnt reach the arena on multiple occasions because his car was on fire!!!! (MULTIPLE OCCASIONS!!!) and the Beasly experiment is over, we should use the streach provision on him if we cant include him in one of the trades we make, HE CAN NOT COME BACK HERE!!!

I like Wes, but not more than $2 million a season. I would also like to retain JO, he seems to be the player behind our new found toughness. I don't mind sucking, as long as we are changing the culture. This "PHX doesn't play defense" every year, needs to be changed.

I like Hunter to a point, but there as well, I'm tired of the constant hire head coach from within, that goes all the way back to Ainge taking over for Cotton, save Porter.

I'd say Hunter is the farthest we've gone from "hire from within" so far. They just gave him another temporary job to make sure he was not a nut case, and while they waited for enough evidence (aka bad record) to fire Gentry and blow the rest of the staff away.

JO has to stay. The fact he didn't get traded strongly supports he will. He wants to help building a culture, and that doesn't happen in half a season

...unless he is hoping for a defensive assistant coach spot next to Hunter.

I'd say the Morrii, Dragic, Beasley (because at the moment he is worthless) and JO are the closest things we have to certain of having back next year. Rest is gonna be sliced, chopped, repackaged, redesigned and offered to try to improve the roster and move up some slots in the draft.

If its a low money contract, sure, why not, he can hopefully only improve from here on out and looks better at least here than he did in Minny. However, if he's looking for a large contract, than hell no,

$2m a year sounds ok, although I would add no more than a 2 year deal (3rd year TO).

Use the stretch provision on Beasley, and bring back Wes for no more than 3 years/$9 million and we will be fine. His defense is alone worth something.

I totally agree, maybe not the third year, but add incentives.

Short contracts with a team option in the last year is the way to go with teaser players like WJ.

Isn't it actually more cost effective to keep Measley one more yr then buy him out ? who cares if he is cemented to seat 11-12 ?

There is no need to stretch him out unless we need the cap space... and , IMO, there is no need to dabble in free agency other than retaining ONeal and WesJo

You know Frank.. I know we on this board have been against adding anything but star players with our cap space for the next few years, but where would we actually get them from the current pool of freeagents for the next few years?? I was on that band wagon but looking around the league I think I have changed heart and confidence in the curren talent out there and the ability for us to actually get them to come here. We lack so much talent that maybe the way to go with our current assets is to sign a few of the best players available and trade the assets we currently have to stockpile young draftees and develope them as the next big things. So in the interet of getting defensive players and adjusting to Hunters style I would spent on a few choice free-agents use Gortat, Dudley, Scola to get younger and more athletic.

The 3 players I would go after in free-agency are Gerald Henderson (great athlete, great defender, good to above avg. ofense, and competes hard..... Al-Farouq Aminu (also great athlete, good defender, good on ofense and could get a lot better, also monster competitor who was pissed he got tradd to the Hornets).... Unpopular vote on this board and I dont know why, he is a beast, I would go aftr JJ Hickson if he was reasonable(good defender, great post game, great rebounder, very tough and COMPETES). And actually if we did dump salary and get more draft picks and had the room, I would go after Timofy Mosgov (very athletic big with still lots of upside, just buried in the politics in Denver, probably not better then Koufus, and cant justify playing him over the 10 million dollar man McGee. I think starting a line-up if no rooks stand out after being picked and the Morris twins dont step up, a starting lineup of Dragic/ Henderson/ Aminu/ Hickson/ and whatever Center we wind up with wether it be a draftee, or Oneal (not likely) or Hadaddi (not likely) or Mozgov would be great ahtletically and defensivly. I think they would figure the ofense out too. And young guys like Oladipo, maybe a Zeller or a Len, the Morris twins Marshall and maybe Wes to develope behind them??

I dont know... I just dont see us signing that ultra superstar already proven in the league and think we can get a lot better if we pick the right free-agents for the plan (defense and athletic talented players) and develope draft picks. Kind of a reset button!!
