Mclemore is going to measure in at about the same as OJ Mayo. Mayo is not undersized at the 2.

He's not different. He's a slightly upgraded version of Stuckey in that he's a little longer.

Re: Which undersized guard??
1 - oj mayo, cut stuckey
2 - draft a sg, cut stuckey
3- trade Stuckey and probably a pick or cash to Orlando for Aaron Afflalo, no need to cut stuckey.
Evans seems like another ego. His scoring has regressed each year, and shooting percentages are bad for a team with two good bigs.
Ellis would be as small as our PG. His career shooting numbers have been mostly bad. He can't shoot 3s that well. And right now hes a much better Brandon Knight. I don't want duplicate players anymore and no more "sea of 'tweeners".

Ellis and Mayo are the exact same height, forget what they're listed at as Mayo is closer to 6'2" than 6'4". Which is a major reason why Mayo isn't more dominant given his skillset.
Just wanted to throw that out there.

That's not true. They measure guys at the combine:
Mayo 6'3.25 w/o shoes 6'6 Wingspan
Ellis 6'2.25 w/o Shoes 6'2.75 Wingspan.

Same but different:
Stuckey likes to use his strength overpower small guards. This usually the case when he goes against point guards. Evans is bigger and stronger than Stuckey and is usually a size and strength mismatch against 1s and 2s.
Stuckey likes to score in transition where he can get a full head of steam and use his momentum to power his way in. Evans excels in transition and he can break the D down in the halfcourt set.
Stuckey is primarily a penetrator who relies on bumping his man to get a little space to lob up a shot. Evans is a deceptive ballhandler capable of shaking his man and strong enough to maintain space to get off a good shot.
Stuckey is limited in his array of shots. Evans has multiple shot options or ways of releasing the ball to get the bucket.
There are similarities between the two, but Evans seems to be better at everything that even appears to be a strength for Stuckey.

Re: Which undersized guard??
Oh yeah, I'd prefer Mayo over Ellis. Mayo seems to play better off the ball. He's a better defender. He's a bigger player. I believe he has a higher upside.
If we got Mayo, I could see us going for Iguodala or trying to draft Otto Porter.
I'm at a bit of a disadvantage because I haven't followed college basketball in a few years. So I have to go on what I have read about some of the college guys and who my coworkers pump up.
I hear alot about:
Victor Olopido
Otto Porter
Shabazz Muhammad
Ben McElmore
Trey Burke

Re: Which undersized guard??
If we're going to spend decent money on a SG, which I kind of hope we don't have to because hopefully we draft a SG in the lottery -- but if we do, I'm leaning more toward us going after Tyreke than Mayo or Ellis.
He's the youngest of the group
He's the biggest of the group
His outside shooting is improving
His pricetag might be the least of the group
Downside is, he'll be a resticted free agent. So if we go after him, Sacto can match to keep him.

Re: Which undersized guard??
I like Tyreke a lot as well. He is A LOT better than Stuckey. However, the guy is an RFA.
And, if we do sign him, we'll again end up with the same --lack of consistent outside shooting-- issue again.
There may not consistency issues with Tyreke a lot(unlike Stuckey) but he does tend to get nicked up.

Maybe we sign Tyreke to an offer sheet in the offseason, and offer up Stuckey in a S&T deal so they don't match.

Same here, I want no part of either of these 2.
Monta's issues have been well documented... selfish ballhog, cancer, streaky outside shooter, "Monta got it all", mediocre defensively etc etc.
Mayo is a turnstile on defense and his handles need major work. He is a turnover machine in pick & roll. If you trap him, the chances that he coughs it up are really high. I'm also concerned with how he cooled down considerably when the rest of league figured out how to defend him. I love the shooting and the passing but, hate just about everything else.
I actually like Tyreke better than both of them, because I'm a sucker for slashers that are great at finishing, but he's a terrible fit here, with the poor long range shooting, ball dominance, and being too injury prone.

Re: Which undersized guard??
How have they faired against eachother lately? All three of them have played eachother within the past month:
Game 1 -- Tyreke vs. Monta, March 10, 2013
Tyreke = 20 points (8-17 FG, including 1-3 from three-land), 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, 2 TOs in 31+ minutes
Monta = 29 points (9-24 FG, including 0-5 from three-land), 4 rebounds, 9 assists, 0 steals, 3 TOs in 41+ minutes
Game 2 - Tyreke vs. Mayo, Feb 13, 2013
Tyreke = 23 points (8-12 FG, including 0-2 from three-land), 2 rebounds, 1 assists, 3 steals, 5 TOs in 36+ minutes
Mayo = 10 points (3-11 FG, including 0-7 from three-land), 2 rebounds, 1 assists, 3 steals, 3 TOs in 29+ minutes
Game 3 - Mayo vs. Monta, March 12, 2013
Mayo = 14 points (6-12 FG, including 2-5 from three-land), 1 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steals, 1 TOs in 36+ minutes
Monta = 32 points (12-24 FG, including 2-6 from three-land), 2 rebounds, 9 assists, 2 steals, 4 TOs in 41+ minutes
Game 3 - Mayo vs. Monta, Feb 26, 2013
Mayo = 18 points (7-14 FG, including 0-3 from three-land), 3 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steals, 5 TOs in 37+ minutes
Monta = 22 points (8-17 FG, including 2-5 from three-land), 3 rebounds, 9 assists, 6 steals, 2 TOs in 44+ minutes
Overall, head-to head - Monta > Mayo and Tyreke is more efficient than both.
Depending on how you look at the stats, you could go:
1) Tyreke/Ellis
2) Ellis/Tyreke
3) Mayo

Based on what? Definitely not based off their PERs or their opposition's PERs....looks like you just arranged them randomly.

Mayo is scoring with better efficiency than all 3. Tyreke is putting up Stuckey 2010 stats on one of the worst teams in the league.
