Hi guys i got a question and i was wondering if you guys could answer it.
I was curious as to why Casey got fired during his second year as the Wolves head coach. It's unusual for a coach to get canned after a 20-20 start. Watching Casey this here for us, it is evident how many holes he has in his coaching style. Poor subsititions, poor offence, and brutal time out management. Was this part of the reason why he got fired so soon for you guys?
Thanks

What is it with Raptors fans and coming here asking questions lately?
Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt

Nope. The reason he was fired was that his GM provided him with a poorly built roster and then made him a scapegoat.
And the fans ate that **** up.
Speaking about poorly built rosters, enjoy paying Gay and Bargs $30 mill next season.

Re: Raps Fan - Question
Poor talent and unrealistic expectations from the GM (McFail) and owner.
Clashed with Ricky Davis in particular and management would not back him even though Davis was a complete basketcase.
I hope you can develop your young talent in Toronto, Jonas in particular. His rookie year reminds me of Pek's first year here with too many fouls and not being totally comfortable on offense. And Pek turned out OK.
Jonas can also shoot and defend the rim, and I'm still optimistic he's going to be a top-tier C in a couple years.
If Pek wants too much to re-sign, would Derozan and Jonas for Pek+Williams or Pek and future top 5 prot 1st interest you in a sign and trade?

Re: Raps Fan - Question
he may not have had a roster he could have ultimately succeeded with, but Casey had some craptacular rotations and plenty of headscratching moments with his offensive sets.

Re: Raps Fan - Question
Casey wasn't perfect, he also wasn't one of the good old boys so he got sacrificed and scapegoated for what at that time, was seen as a bad season. It allowed Glen to put his boy Wittman into the seat of power.
When luck shuts the door skill comes in through the window.

He gave me and my dad free tickets a bunch of times so he's ok in my book.

Good teacher, horrible at managing games, personnels, and too loyal to veterans. Then again, that's most coaches...
Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
