Agreed on a 2-yr deal with Wes Welker. Excited to have Wes join Broncos. His production & toughness will be a great asset!

Still not the long term deal that Welker wanted, but he was probably fed up with searching for better contracts.

EDIT: $12 million over 2 years

I think it's laughable that the Pats let Welker walk for that type of money. Tom Brady has to be livid.

i can see peyton and him connecting again, and again, and again. peyton has an amazing receiving core there now. this should help an already good offense.

People got too attached to this guy. Some fans are over-reacting to the next level. To me, I appreciated his time here, but I can't get his big drops out of my head.

While he did have his share of drops, Welker had more good moments than bad ones during his tenure with the Patriots. His departure should be considered a loss regardless.

A loss sure, but no the amount people are saying. The Pats are very good at paying for what they are going to get instead of what that player provided in the future. With that said I feel Amendola got too much from the Pats.

I don't know. You could argue that two of his drops cost them two Super Bowl wins.

Man, I would be livid if I was Tom Brady. You take a paycut to help the ownership put a better team around you, and they repay you by letting Welker go rather than pay him a pittance?

The fact that he's going to their main challenger for the AFC crown is just icing on the cake.

I don't buy Brady being livid. They've done this to him before, if it was such a slap in the face as some are saying, then why would he blindly let management make decisions with his money he gave up for a second time?

Using that logic, we can say Patriots were the best team in 11 then, right? I mean, sure they blew the big game, but their season before that was GREAT, just GREAT. They're the real super bowl champions.

Also, Marty Schottenheimer is the best coach of all time. Sure he sucked in the post-season, but what does one little fact like that matter? He was king in the regular season.

Welker is a playoff choker. He deserves respect for being one tough SOB who put up great seasons. But he deserves blame for dropping the ball when it matters.
