Drafting Noel means that his rookie season could easily overlap with that of the subsequent years. That is, GM Hennigan would not be drafting a player that would contribute. That is not necessarily bad. Noel would get the Magic condition-trainers to set his body; and they would get 18 months to work on him, compared to the standard Summer.

I agree, a year off to develop his upper body and mental approach would do him wonders, it worked out very well for BGriffin although they are not close in terms of ability.

I could see us moving BBD at the deadline and as stated before Harris is probably better at the 3 spot and I could see Moe getting minutes at the 2, he is long and quick enough to guard, think Thabo Seflosha for a comparison. Nicholson is a good backup 4 with Tobias and Noel playing the 4, I like the idea of moving afflalo for Minnys 1st and taking a pg, we would be thin at the 2 but there will be players available at the minimum capable enough for a non playoff team next season.

IMO Noel projects to be a Marcus Camby type in a few seasons.

Actually, I could see Harkless at the SG position. He is quick enough to guard 2's and he is getting better at hitting 3's.

But, I would like to keep BBD. Thus, future Ship lineup of:

Get Smart
Hark
T12
BBD
Vucevic

I absolutely hate playing players out of their positions. That's my major gripe with Harkless/Harris right now. I want both to be SF, they are both starter material, Harris now, Harkless soon to be.

In what universe would that be a championship lineup?

Hennigan is going to troll all of us and select someone no one is even talking about.

What is the timeline for Noel looking like between now and the draft? What will he be able to do for us between now and then? Can we have a doctor look at him, will he be able to move around by then?

Harkless at SG is a bit iffy but Harris playing at the 4 is working quite well. He causes a lot of mismatching, he stretches the floor with his 3 ball.

I could see him doing that if our pick is out of the top 3... however, if he's going to take a player that's lower on everyone's board compared to ours, I would hope he'd work out a swap, so we can get a little something extra out of it.

I think that Noel needs to be priority at this point. I think he'll get picked as the number 1 pick though, so that makes it harder for us if we don't get it. I don't think the injury hurt his stock that much. He had some huge games before the injury and I think that's what scouts are gonna remember more than anything.

until he busts his knee again, then they'll remember. I absolutely hate that he has no feel for the game on offense. I think hennigan goes a safer route.

For sure believe that Hennigan goes a safer route. Noel is too much of a gamble. I think it's a bit worry-some about a young big man with a major knee injury. Marcus Smart or bust.

Anyone else by that McLemore performance today?? He has had big scoring games before but I really liked the diversity of ways he was able to put the ball in the hole. Didn't do anything in iso, but he played well off screens and getting into the lane. Reminded me a bit of how we used JJ. I hope he has a good post-season. 24 points on 12 shots.

With our current record, there s a roughly 60 percent chance we will pick in the top 3, so that's a 60 percent chance of one of McLemore Smart or Noel.

I'd be happy with any of em.

As long as we keep getting young players and developing them, they become nice trade pieces for other pieces we may still be missing, so let's say we get Smart and Jabari Parker in the next few drafts, Jabari makes Tobias expendable so we move him for a Larry Sanders.

Sound good?
