Give JJ Hickson decent money and not risk future salary cap implications on any of the above mentioned

That's a healthy plan too.

For us I'm inclined to agree with Sachmo, though maybe swapping Bynum and Smith. Both are DO.NOT.WANT. for me though.

ignoring money and injuries, you've ranked them in terms of talent quite nicely

Sarcasm? I just feel like Bynum, overrated even when healthy, will still get some poor team to overpay for his services.

Healthy Bynum > Smith, who has never had an all-star game. Bynum has the best back to the basket game in the league, only a few guys come close.

Inb4 the "let's pick up Trey Thompkins off waivers" posts proceed. He's a talented but soft jump shooting big (as if we don't have enough of them) that's been oft-injured early in his career. Let's just say that I'd rather revisit this idea while organizing our Summer League roster.

Looking past the big names, I'm all for making Mullens a free agent and getting Brandan Wright this summer.

Hickson is going to get paid, likely eight figures per year.

C'mon son, Smith has had multiple All Star worthy seasons, he's just a perennial snub b/c of politics.

Highly doubtful he gets 8 figures. More like a Humphries contract if anything.

$24 million over two years... that's eight figures per year.

I think they should try to get Josh Smith, Al Jefferson, or JJ Hickson.. I would prefer Josh Smith. I wonder if they can get Smith and Hickson??? They should have a lot of money to spend this summer. If so, I would sign him, and bench Biyombo.

Kemba, McLemore, MKG, Josh Smith, Hickson.

With the Hendo QO and depending on what we do with McBob and Adrien we should have 10-14m in cap room.

We could offer one of these guys a deal.

I think Pekovic is a very good option but why all of a sudden is he the best thing since sliced bread after two decent seasons?

Watch him play some. He's an athletic freak considering his size and weight. Probably the strongest player in the league. Plays hard and excels at the little things like grabbing offensive boards.

We threw the max at Brook Lopez. Who would you rather have?

It's not a case of everybody going "ermahgerd Pekovic!!!!"

It's woefully obvious we need a competent big. Pekovic is probably the most desirable (possible) choice on the market and provides much of what we desperately need. So it's understandable that he's the guy we'd gravitate to.

Is he worth the max or near max? In the current NBA climate where guys like Hibbert, Lopez, etc get huge deals, yes.

McGee gets 11 to play 20 minutes a game.
