The Clippers to sign Dajuan Summers

Post#1 » by mkwest » Thu Mar 14, 2013 11:18 pm

The Clippers plan to sign Dajuan Summers of Maine in D-League, league source tells Y! Sports.

Adrian Wojnarowski

Clippers expected to bring in Dajuan Summers tomorrow. He has good size, can shoot, will add extra presence in practice.

Summers is a 6'8, 240lb forward. He's currently rated the number 1 D-League prospect. He averaged 18 points and 7.6 rebounds in 33 minutes per game. He has spent time with Pistons (who drafted him in the 2nd round of the 2009 out of Georgetown) and the Hornets over the last 3 seasons.

What's the story on his defense?

42.9% FG and 31.7% 3PT isn't really good, but is he a guy with skills that can translate to more of a role player? If so, then in a different role where he isn't creating shots, maybe he can be more efficient. I don't know what to think or if he'll even see the floor, but unknown things always hold a glimmer of hope.

I don't know much about him or his defense. From what I've heard, he's just another body for practice while Caron is out. Caron returned to practice today, which is good for the team, but probably bad for Summers.

Also in practice, the players went head-to-head in a series of one-on-one battles...

Let's see what Summers can do. I'm curious if he will get in the game at all.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!
