How many regular season starts do you give Ricky Romero to "fix" himself from last year before you send him down to Triple A for a few weeks?
This is assuming that he does not improve from last season.
Keep in mind that we are trying to win a division title and every game matters.

This is a purely subjective question.
Off the top of my head (without checking out the stats), I think he started the season something like 8-1 last year. If he is doing this with a WHIP of 1.75, it's still pretty hard to send him down. The opposite could be said for if he starts 1-8 with a 1.25 WHIP (obviously an extreme example).
I'd say the amount of starts he is given will be in direct correlation to the overall performance of the team. If we get off the the quick start (that we're all hoping for), then he'll have a much longer leash. If we struggle, and Ricky struggles, obviously he's the first to go.

I would say generally in the 6-7 range.
But, I think it depends on things. If he's averaging 5+ walks/9 innings, and not showing much improvement then I would probably send him down quicker than if his peripherals are good, but he's just getting unlucky with a hgih ERA.
I don't think trying to win should force us to send him down any earlier then that. I mean, lets say Romeo stays up in the bigs for 6 starts instead of 3 and puts up an ERA of 5. Lets also say Happ could have put up an ERA of 4.2. Is the 0.8 disparity in ERA really going to make much difference over the extra 3 games? Maybe you expect to win like half a game more with the 4.2 ERA pitcher over 3 games from an expected value standpoint, but I don't think 3 extra games of a 0.8 higher ERA pitcher would effect the win total too much.
