Just when I didn't think this young man can impress me anymore then he has, he does it again.

Hey for Beal I would like Randy to do some experiments since they are in the end of a tanking season.

How about playing Beal at PG, and let him develop some better handle skills and pass skills while in serious competition.

Closer the Wizards' gets his handle to ether match Crawford or Gil, this dude would be a f***ing beast.
Can't say other puns right now cause they could be offensive, but he a beast with Gil handle...

Oh well. Nothing hurts to experiment with player development in the end of a tank season.

BB is back and he hit the ground running like he didn't miss any games.

He looked good running around on that ankle which is good to see.

What a great year for him. He really has come a long way.

Wittman tried that at the end of the 3rd quarter of the Phoenix game. Wall and Temple were both out so Beal got the ball with 8 seconds left. He had to dribble the length of the court and make a play.

He dribbled into traffic and turned it over. It was a pretty sad play.

Beal is not a PG and he doesn't yet have the ball handling skills to handle the position. I'm sure he'll get there one day, but he's not there now.

BB# just wouldn't be a promising young Bullet/Wizard without frustrating recurring injury issues. Chris Webber, Gilbert Arenas, and John Wall send their regards.

I apologize if someone posted this earlier (like before the season) but I just stumbled onto this. Beal's pre-draft workout was no joke. Those ballhandling drills were impressive. I don't think Beal will have a sophomore slump at all. Just heal up that ankle. I'd shut him down.

Beal needs to learn to pick his spots better.

Knowing he was already injured, he should not have gone for that block.

He just reacted. He just turned the ball over so he wanted to make a play. But you have to remember the situation at all times and not lose you head.

You are injured still
There are only 15 or so games left.
Its a lost season.
You have the lead.

If you are mindful of all those things, you let those 2 pts happen and come back to fight the next play...the next game.

He has to learn to keep his head. Big picture. That was a mental fart by Beal.

pancakes I recall watching that as well, that's why I am a bit surprised by how poor his handles have been so far during his rookie season. He looks really shaky out there handling the rock, he definitely needs a lot of work in that department.

Wanted to say that I am so excited for 2013-2014 season. If Wall and Beal are healthy at the beginning of the season then watch out East conference! The future is here guys. Wall and Beal are getting a long great on and off the court. We are about to witness the coming of a dynasty. If my dreams come true than Mitch Kupchak is going to come home and replace Ernie. Do it Mitch! Come home Mitch!

You make it sound as if he tried to block the shot with a flying sidekick. How many players coming off a leg injury would feel they were in danger of re-aggravating the injury going for a block? Should he never have gone for a single rebound as well? Just one of those freak occurrences.

No, you made it sound like that.

Chasing someone down from behind for a block is a lot different then having position and jumping straight up to get a rebound or blocking someone in front of you. Sure you can always land on someone foot any time you jump but usually you have your space. Chasing down a block like that, you are flying forward toward where that player is going to land. Bodies get tangled and you are off balance.

Just like we saw.

They had the lead. He should have just let him score. It was a high risk, low reward play.

As for questions two...How many players coming off a leg injury would feel they were in danger of re-aggravating the injury going for a case down from behind block?

Why don't you go do some research and get back to us with the answer.

It's easy to say what he shouldn't have done after the fact. Wittman didn't want Wall changing his aggressive style of play despite his more severe injury, I doubt he would have Beal play any other way either. Beal didn't do anything out of the ordinary, he just landed akwardly, no bodies were tangled and he didn't land on anyone's foot.

Maybe Beal needs to wait it out and completely heal before returning from an injury the next time but if he's healthy enough to play he ought to remain aggressive and not be thinking about injuries. Picking up a cheap sixth foul, that's a mental lapse, making an aggressive play on the basketball isn't.

So Beal being the next Ray Allen is looking good, when he's healthy. Ray Ray + Gordon hybrid.

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

What a stud this kid is and is going to be!

In the third and 4th years of his contract he's going to be producing like an all-star, getting paid around the league average. He is so fun to watch.

He is shooting .492 since January. On 124 attempts.

Only 8 players in history have exceeded 49% on 3-pointers on 124 attempts or more in a season. All but one of them were one-dimensional sharp shooters who played limited minutes off the bench. Detlef Schrempf did it once as a full time starter, but he shot sparingly, averaging just 2.2 3PA's per game.

Beal is doing it as a two-way player and (mostly) full time starter (32 minutes per game since January). He is doing it on high volume too: 4.7 attempts per 36 minutes. Only Legler shot at higher rate per minute, and he did it in fewer minutes per game.

Oh, and Beal is a 19-year-old rookie.
