I think both @Bos and @Cle are possible losses.

@Bos: 11-game home win streak, vet team that knows Miami well and plays them well, great coach, great fans
@Cle: (assuming they beat Boston), emotional let down after a big road win, 5th straight game on the road, and 5th game in 8 nights -- likely dead legs + possibility of lack of focus.

If they win those two, I don't see them losing home vs Det or vs Cha, or @Orl to start the next road trip. So IMO if they get through Bos/Cle, then they get to 27 games on the streak easy, heading into a game @Chi on the 27th

It's a shame this team took the beginning of the regular season off. This team is good enough to win 68-70 games.

If we beat Boston, spurs are the only tough game left..

All that matter is winning a title. Ask the Spurs of what they think of regular season wins.

Good analysis. The next two games are likely to be relatively challenging. I'm sure Boston will be up for the challenge tomorrow night.
Thank you Nico!

If the Heat beat the Celtics, then I think that they're actively going to go for the streak. Irving is out too.

Spurs is not historically good team.

This heat team is.They said they dont want to look back and regret why they didnt try hard enough.

If they stay healthy they should be able to win at least 70 games.I mean look at the eastern conference.

If they took the first part of the seasons seriously we would be talking about whether they are gonna break 72-10 or not.

if they beat the celtics tomorrow, they very well break that record...don't see a let down since they know that the record is the only thing left...spurs will be a very good test for them though and it could very well end there....GO CELTICS!

If KG is out tommorow, then Heat will probably get the win fairly easy.

If he plays then I expect the game to be a tight one.

Their schedule is so easy, I would be shocked if they don't get the record.

Don't know if that's good for them though. Don't want to go down like the Patriots did a few years ago.

I think the easy schedule somewhat hurts them. The closest they've been to losing during this streak were to teams like Sacramento and Orlando. Their effort just isn't there for a full game against those type of teams.

The Patriots lost to the Giants when they were 18-0 and 15-3. Saying they lost because they won too much is just playing the result.

The flipside to this is that they're 25-3 against teams below .500, so its not like inconsistent effort is translating into losses. Just by that %, you'd expect them to go 9-1 in their final 10 games against < .500 teams.

It ends tomorrow against Boston in my opinion.

Honestly, this could be a bad thing for Miami. It's not good to peak during the end of the regular season which was the case with the 2008 Rockets when they won 22 in a row. I still think the Heat will win it all since they are overwhelmingly more talented than every other team. Once the streak ends, the Heat could be in slump and out of rhythm.

"Peaking too early" is the worst trope in sports.

As previously noted, 5 of the 8 teams (prior to Miami) to win 18 or more games in a row ended up winning titles. Di they peak too early? Are we going to say Boston peaked too early because KG got injured? Its silly. Playing good basketball is never a bad thing, and playing good basketball now does not make it more likely that you'll play bad basketball later.

It's obviously never a bad thing to play good basketball, but I feel like the Heat could be out of rhythm once this streak ends. It could lead to playoff games extending longer than they should and making these series more dreadful and a pain for them.

If I was the Heat, I would make more of an attempt to get the 16-0 playoff record than the 33+ regular season win streak record, unless their plan is to do both, lol.

I would say a large part of why Dallas won in 2011 is because they did peak at the right time especially with their shooters. They all were hot, in rhythm, and made shots in the post-season.
