The Pacers are pretty exciting, dude. They're like the Spurs except with more personality. Granger as the nerdy guy who can drop 25+ any given night. Paul George, the humble semi-counterpart to LeBron's superhero persona and upcoming star. Stephenson as the notorious rebel who does things with attitude, although they all still love him. Then there is Hibbert, the lumbering giant who bangs down low and takes hits for the team while protecting the rim, all with the hopes of lifting the burden that his max contract puts on his conscience.

It's a shame though. If I lived in Indiana, I would for sure be seen at the games.

no they aren't exciting. They are a slow paced defensive team, most casual fans don't find that type of ball exciting. They are nothing like the current Spurs. Now they might resemble the Spurs from 5 years ago, but that team was accused of being boring as well. If anything they are very much like Memphis except that Memphis has the slightly better Front Court, while Indiana has the better Wing player in George.

Nah, that's not true. League Pass has made it simple for fans everywhere to root for whatever team they want to. Naturally a lot of younger fans and fans who like superstar scoring guards will hop onto the Lakers' wagon. You used to NEVER see Laker jerseys or even Kobe jerseys at Utah, Sacramento, Boston, etc. This has nothing to do with Kobe being at the end of his career, it's due to the sheer volume of Laker fans these days.

Get used to it smaller market teams.

When I first joined this forum I had been living in Kentucky for about 2 years. Living in a midwestern flyover state left me - a life long Laker fan with few options in catching a live Laker game. Wait to return home for visits to catch a game or drive to one of the surrounding NBA towns. Being that my visits to LA were usually around the holidays made it difficult to obtain tickets. I was resigned to see them in either ATL, INDY,MEMPHIS, or CHI. At first being a Los Angelino and die hard Laker fan I hated the idea of visiting an opposing teams gym. However, I eventually warmed up to the idea.

I made trips to Indy's Fieldhouse to see the Lakeshow live. They were the best seats I ever had to a Laker game since the Del Harras days. I am talking tickets you would normally pay $1000 I got for $100!

I found I wasn't the only LA transplant there. In fact behind us was a row of LA fans from CAL in Laker gear. I am pretty sure all of us purchased our tickets from Pacer season ticket holders via ebay. My point is my story is duplicated in a lot NBA towns especially places like Memphis, INDY, ATL, CHA, etc...

How do you know if the tickets on ebay are fake or real? Any way that is a good story...and I wonder if maybe more people are migrating to indiana from commifornia. Ca is pretty bad...but at least they are not trying to outlaw jumbo size drinks.

@GeneralNash - If you're purchasing tickets from ebay its best to do your homework first. We used ebay because at the time StubHub/Craigslist wasn't very popular during that time and the Ticketmaster equivalent was just too clunky. eBay was usually the older season ticket holder crowds who just wanted to dump good seats fast. Normally I would we would only shop with those who had a positive rating. Never bought tickets from anyone with at least 10 or so feedback and if the person only has 10 or so feedback they all better be positive. Most likely you're either dealing with a will call situation or they send them to you or UPS to you. We even had a lady meet us at the venue. So be careful when buying tickets. Make sure the dates are correct and that they aren't used already.

People genuinely like to make money when the Lakers come to town. Especially, if your team sucks and you don't want to see them get stomped by Kobe and company. So these days you may find good prices on last minute sales on NBA tickets in smaller market NBA towns such as Indy.
