2) Trade English (and cap space) to a team in the mid-to-late 1st for a semi-bad contract and their 1st rounder. We do it for the pick, they do it to offload some salary.

but.......... not sure we would be able to get K-LOVE, I get the feeling Monroe's stock isnt quite as high as it once was plus you are throwing in a turd sandwich of CV & Singler. that said though i like drafting Oladipo and would def entertain the idea of trading English.

Trade for Love could be Monroe/Stuckey for Love too -- would that be giving up too much?

Just figured out who we should target as the FA backup C = Blatche. He could be our offensive option at C, and could likely be had for cheap.

1) Monroe/Stuckey to MN for Love
2) Knight/Singler to Philly for Holiday
3) Take on a semi-bad contract for a mid-to-late 1st rounder

2013 lottery pick on SG Oladipo (assuming Porter and McLemore are gone by the time we pick)
Take SF Saric with mid-to-late pick
Take SG Crabbe in the 2nd round

I like the idea of trading for Love.. he'd be a great fit with Drummond imo.. but I'd be worried he'd book out of town for a more glamourous city once his contract is up

Trade Monroe, Stuckey and Singler for Kevin Love, I don't mind if we trade the same players for Brook Lopez or work a sign-and-trade to get Josh Smith (I believe Smith-Drummond would form a demonic defensive front court)

Afterwards, I would give Andre Iguodala a max deal to sign with us. He will be a defensive stopper and a do-it-all player who can help set up an offense. This enables Brandon Knight to have a few years to develop as a true point guard in Jose Calderon and if Jose is not back in Detroit next year, Andre can be our primary ball handler and some pressure out of Knight. I would try to sign Corey Brewer, and reasonable contracts to Jarrett Jack and Samuel Dalembert.

If we can get lucky to draft McLemore, then awesome. If not, I would love to get Shabazz, that will be our team going forward. People who said Shabazz is not athletic enough are just insane. Being a 2011 high school graduate in Vegas, I was able to play against him (when I was in Sierra Vista High and he played for Bishop Gorman); he's very quick first step and finishes well on the rim. I'm a total believer of him. If he wants to the ball in the final seconds of a ball game, I would let him.

Resign Bynum as well (a big fan of him)

This team, first and foremost, would not be out-rebounded. With this front court, teams would have trouble scoring against us as well. There are hustle players in Jerebko, Drummond, Brewer, Bynum, Dalembert, there is a fine balance of playmakers (Iguodala, Calderon, Knight) and scorers (Shabazz, Love, Charlie V). If this is my team going forward (with a perennial all star in Love and Iguodala, and two potential all-stars in Shabazz and Drummond), I expect them to make the playoff in their first year, and then contend with the second or the third year.

i like the idea of Love for Monroe. but Love is going to LA after this contract and i don't like the idea of surronding love with Knight and 2 draft picks. screams like same team to me

I agree, Love would be great, but he would bolt at the first opportunity. I am not so sure Iguodala is going to opt out. He is happy in Denver, making decent money, and will be a free agent the next year. If he does, I doubt he goes to a rebuilding team like us. He has gone though that in Philly and I don't see him wanting to deal with it again. IF he opts out I think he will go to a contender. On the other hand, I have been hearing rumors that Denver wants to move McGee and are willing to give up an asset to do so. He is too erratic, his contract is too large for a backup, and Denver wants cap space. We will have cap space at the end of the season if we let our own free agents walk, so how about this?

Denver out: McGee and Chandler.

Detroit out: cap space

Why for Denver? Removes a bad contract. The loss of Chandler is rough bit it is the position they have the most depth at. It allows them to resign/replace Iguodala.

Why for Detroit? McGee is a decent but over priced backup big. Chandler is a very good SF/SG. the positions we need to upgrade the most. Both are young enough to fit with our "core players". And we give up nothing. We might still have room to resign Calderon, if not, we can amnesty CV and/or buy out Stuckey for the 4 million option in his contract.

Brewer and Clark have both enjoyed semi breakouts this year. They aren't likely to sign for cheap and they definately aren't signing to be backups on a lotto team. Eric Maynor is overrated. Sam Presti knows more about the NBA than all of us, if he gave Maynor away for a bag of chips then we don't need him.

But I like where your head is. I would like to target Al-Farouq Aminu (still just 22 years old and unrestricted), DJ Augustin, or Roddy Buckets

I still don't get why anyone would offer the MAX to Iggy. He is not a scorer and he is already 29.
