We tried Jeremy with meh results.

We also tried Jerel Mcneal with meh results, which is why it's strange he's the one everybody clamors for

Wish Jeremy Pargo was available. Jannero can't do this.

I just think it makes more sense to try a younger player (not necessarily a guy with no NBA experience) then to add someone we know isn't going to help beyond this year.

Sure, but my guess is they noticed how tired Kemba is getting and decided its more important to bring in a vet who they know can give the team a few minutes instead of some unknown who might waste another 10 days of Kemba getting run into the ground?

What's going to happen if we roll a young guy out on to the court for 10 minutes instead of Pargo? Are we going to lose to the Raptors by 20 rather than 14? Are we going to lose 10 in a row rather than 9 in a row? I think the running Kemba into the ground argument doesn't really have any legs. Kemba can be spelled by anyone in our quest for #1 (lottery pick). Pargo is not an improvement over what we already have on the bench, and a young guy can help us lose big just as easily as Pargo can.

Believe me, I get it - I understand that in the big picture this 10 day signing does not matter at all - but as has been mentioned, it doesn't seem like a smart move considering the context of where we are as a team, and I would like us to be making smart moves - however big or small. Therein lies my moderate, and now vastly overstated, disappointment. We are in a position to gamble a bit, so let's do it.

Also, I'm bored with the season, so I'm prone to turning minor distractions like this into meaningless crusades :D

The argument is that the young guy can show that he's not capable of playing 10 minutes, while we KNOW Pargo is. He was also out there with MKG last night working on his post moves with him. Can the young guy do that? Can he provide a little locker room leadership when the team is clearly dragging right now?

I get that everybody wants some young guy. I would prefer one too. But let's not pretend like going young is nothing but positives and going old is nothing but negatives. We've trusted Cho all along, so if he thinks Pargo was the best available then why don't we continue to trust him?

My reply - Jannero Pargo.

BTW, thx for the thread candy from last night - made for a nice morning. My wife was not as pleased.

Rick Bonnell ‏@rick_bonnell
Bobcats coach Dunlap likes Jannero Pargo's "wisdom,'' as in you can throw jargon at him and he "knows exactly what you're talking about.''

Maybe Kemba can learn something from him. Journeyman or not, he still is an experienced NBA vet.

I guess this answers the questions some of you guys had previously.

Rick Bonnell ‏@rick_bonnell
Idea wasn't so much to develop for the future as to find someone reliable while Sessions is injured.

Rick Bonnell Rick Bonnell ‏@rick_bonnell
Dunlap really wanted this fill-in point guard to be a veteran, rather than a young experiment. Pargo, 9 years in, fits description.

So I take it I'm still not the only one who didn't mind the Pargo signing?

Sign this guy for the rest of the season. Signing him for another 10-day contract doesn't do justice to his performance tonight.

I believe they only have another week or so left to sign him for the rest of the season. May as well due so. I could see Sessions getting healthy and Dunlap running a Walker Pargo Sessions Hendo Biyombo lineup.

Not joking.

hes a very solid backup PG but he has no business closing out games playing with Kemba. I hate it enough when its Gordon but Pargo isnt on Gordons level catch and shoot wise off curls and such. pargo and kemba is a bad fit and just leads to one standing around and its really hurts our defense. dunlap sucks

It's brilliant. Just like the Josh McRoberts deal, who knew he can actually play?
