Frank is back. This could get ugly. Still need to tank as there are too many teams with similar records. Would be nice for the Pistons to have a pick below number 8 for a change.

These games are so brutal to watch right now, we desperately need Drummond back atleast for team morale.

We are the worst team in the NBA without Drummond. Legit shot at a top 3 pick. Frank the Tank! Frank the Tank! Frank the Tank! Frank the Tank! Frank the Tank!

I was over on the Raps board, they have some Calderon thread with basically everyone blaming him for this stretch, blatantly obvious that missing Drummond is the problem, he completely sets the tone for the game even in just 20 mins. Calderon is weak defensively but missing our best defender and rebounder is killing us.

Rob Parker reported last night on channel 4 that the Pistons still very much want to resign Calderon, and he thinks its likely to happen.

To be fair, he also reported there was a "good chance" Frank would miss the whole season. Literally hours later Frank returned lol.

Some good news on Drummond

Vincent Goodwill ‏@vgoodwill
Drummond doing more on court work with the team today...no timetable for return but could it be soon?

Keith Langlois ‏@Keith_Langlois
No BK tonight. LFrank said he saw noticeable improvement on Andre Drummond over his 2 weeks away. Did some team drills today.

I still can't figure out how there's 5 teams with worse records in this league. This has probably been the worst stretch of basketball since some time in the 90s and we STILL can't be as bad as perrenial SUCKsters in the NBA. How can teams continually be that bad after high lottery picks year in/year out?

Anyone know why Frank was gone anyway?

I'm not opposed to resigning Jose. He's a pass-first PG and capable of running the pick and roll, and an offense in general. He wont penetrate and create for other guys, but he makes the simple pass and hits guys on the money. Helps that he has good court vision as well.

However...as we've all reiterated so many times, the dude can't consistently stay in front of other PGs. I don't see him as our full time PG for the next 5-8 years. As a rotation player though, and a mentor...any team would welcome him.

@DetroitSho: So true. Parity is horrible right now, and the bottom teams are sinking to a new low. No pun intended...

Strange to be outside the top 3-5 after losing 8 straight games when we already had a putrid record to begin with.

Resigning Calderon will be a fireable offense in my book. If Dumars does that then he should be let go before he is allowed to make any other signings.

I was just thinking about that myself. Nothing against Jose as a PG, I just hate his defense more than I love his offense..He's aging and if he's smart he take less money somewhere else to win.
