You know what.. I'm an old school type of guy.. but I like to project into the future. If he can win 3 more championships and get to 4... a few more MVP's... a couple of DPOY's he's going to be in 1b status... I'm starting to leave a crack a door for this conversation to be seriously talked about. I like good basketball... I don't care who's playing it.. and the thing about Lebron this year more than any other year is what he's doing... to me looks like a guy who isn't even trying... When Mike was balling you saw it... effort was being exerted... this guy puts the car in cruise control and is straight coasting down a highway in a way I've never seen a player do live and in color.

People were allowed to put a hand on Mike though

Even if they put a hand on Lebron I seriously don't think it would phase him... that's what I mean about the effort thing.. he don't have the metal to the pedal most of the time... if guys were allowed to handcheck him he'd adjust.

Perhaps, but then that raises the question: What speed would Mike be playing at if he were around today?

Yeah.. it would definitely be easier for him today. But what happens when he would go up against Miami in a head to head matchup with Lebron.. Mike would be hard pressed guarding Lebron whereas Lebron would be able to guard Mike. He's not stopping Mike but he's giving him problems for sure. Think about it like this... take this Miami team and put them up against any of Mike's Bulls teams... Scottie is guarding Lebron... Mike couldn't handle him for an extended period of time.

I'm just saying the time for a REAL conversation on this subject to take place is getting closer every year... and I'm one to have always been of the thinking that this conversation would never happen but I just have to go with what my eyes are telling me and this year Lebron has impressed the hell out of me... I haven't been this impressed with Lebron since the year the Cavs beat the Pistons in the WCF when I was just in awe of the guy.

Well, like you said, time will tell. I think it's at least 4 rings away.

I know "overpaid" PG chat i a thing in this thread so...

The Wizards are expected to offer John Wall a maximum contract extension, sources told CSN Washington.

Sure, he's been playing great lately but...

The only reason I don't hate this move for them is that I think the fan base would explode if they didn't. Wall isn't a max player now but has the potential and he's a number one...but man, they could be handcuffed to mediocrity if he doesn't reach the next level.

Not really, if RealGM was around during the 90s, you would probably have posters lamenting the fact that Jordan got phantom foul calls. Even Magic commented that you couldn't touch MJ. In fact, Lebron is shooting the least number of FTs since his rookie year and he is getting hacked every single time down low. Did you even watch the game yesterday>

Wall has been playing tremendously well and somebody will offer him the rookie max (remember this is not the same salary as an Amare max) and the Wizards really have no choice.

The game yesterday was nothing compared to what Mike went through

Absolutely.. they have to do it. I think it's going to pay off for them, somewhat. I like Wall.. I always have.. I love his speed.. I think he has the potential to be a really good defender and I see no reason why with some hard work he can't become a decent shooter. He's always needed to be surrounded by a mentor... an old head that can teach him the subtleties of playing the position or a coach who was a point guard that can do it.. someone like a Doc Rivers.

Idk if this will make sense but I see more Russell Westbrook in him than Chris Paul right now and it's probably because of the lack of mentor you mention. Calling him comparable to Westbrook is not an insult, but I think a Westbrook is much better suited as the second best piece on a team than the center-piece.

Westbrook is a better scorer but I feel Wall plays more within a system. Granted, I haven't seen many Wizards games but i do not see Wall dominating the rock like Westbrook isos.

Yeah that's a good comparison... the only real difference to me is that Wall tends to contemplate a little bit more than Westbrook... I think Westbrook has always needed to learn how to contemplate.. let things develop a little more.. when he makes his mind up to attack the rim.. he's gone.. that's it.. there is no room for improvisation.

Makes perfect sense. He certainly plays with the speed and ferocity of russell as opposed to the pace and control of Chris. He will never be Chris Paul, his intelligence on the court is genetic. I think he is, however, prone to be a bit less selfish than Russell is and is happy to pass out of his drives to his shooters (see what Martell Webster did last week) but is not yet as good of a shooter as Russell. Idk if he'll be on either of their levels in his career but the Wizards would be stupid not to lock him up and give it a shot.

Wait. Are you saying Wade is some alternate reality Batman? Like one is Adam West Batman and the other is Schumacher ^^^^ty Batman? It's impossible to have two Bruces.

So what the hell is Chris Bosh then?

Batgirl?
