a much more enjoyable tourney than i expected. definitely sped up the first half of this month in anticipation for the mlb season. it was a major success....in that all blue jays players are heading back to dunedin without a scratch. now only a two week layoff until more competitive beisbol. also i have a serious man-crush on jose reyes.

Bautista outplays his contract by more than $70 million over the next four seasons (2013-2016).

7 saves in a 8 games tourney... Rodney is unhittable... one can only dream that Santos/Casey can provide us this type of stability from the Jays pen... that's how to get to the world series!

Jose Reyes hopes Dominican magic is contagious with Blue Jays

Over the past two weeks, Jose Reyes and his Dominican teammates flaunted their contagious emoción on the world stage.
Back with the Toronto Blue Jays, Reyes and friends plan to keep up the Dominican beat in their own clubhouse and spread it across their new fan base in Canada.
On their way to winning the World Baseball Classic, the Dominican Republic players entertained fans – and annoyed some opponents – with their boisterous celebrations. Reyes and WBC teammate Edwin Encarnacion returned to the Jays’ camp Thursday, still tingling from their victory and vowing to keep the spirit alive among their Toronto teammates.
“That’s Dominican baseball,” Reyes said. “If you go and see the Dominican winter league, that’s the same thing everybody does. In the WBC, we do a little extra because the game has so much energy. We feed off the fans. The energy in the ballpark, that’s why we’ve been that way.”
Encarnacion, of course, had felt that energy before in his homeland. But it reached a new level for Dominican fans and players in the WBC.
“I was very surprised,” he said. “I never think it was going to be that exciting. For me, the biggest experience I have in baseball, that’s number one right now.”
The Blue Jays’ opening-day lineup will start with four Dominicans: Reyes, Melky Cabrera, Jose Bautista and Encarnacion. On some days, another Dominican – Emilio Bonifacio – will likely bat ninth. Fellow countryman Esmil Rogers, a reliever, is also expected to make the team.
