This Effin' comeback...
So I was begging to get out of work to catch this game. My shift ended at 8, and I squeezed out by 8:30, didn't get home til 9. I have the league pass on Xbox, so I know I can pull it back and watch it from the beginning. I didn't hide the score, so I saw it was a 20pt lest at halftime. Halftime was still in progress, so I reminded to see what went wrong. I went as far back as the mid 2nd Q, and saw it all unfold. Got frustrated, but of course I had faith....after watching us come back 13 down with 8min the other night, why not?? OMG....what a game. Other than the game 3 '06 finals when we came back, and the national televised game vs the pistons when Wade scored the last 17 points to win ('05-'06 maybe), this one is right there! I also remember 2 years ago when we were down 8 to Washington with like 30 sec to win, but I'm so high off this one.....share your delight please....

It's like we are not suppose to lose. Down 27 on the road you expect to be only one result.

The Heat have an ridiculous amount of close games this year compared to their first year together. Seriously if games only lasted 5 minutes they might have 1 loss on the entire year. Really unless they are down 25+ with less then 5 minutes I wouldn't ever count them out.

Re: This Effin' comeback...
Miami scored 55 points in the last 17:50 of the game in 31 possessions. Cleveland scored 28.
That's a 177.4 ORTG for Miami and 90.3 ORTG for Cleveland.

How often do you see such stretches for a team? I assume it isn't that rare right?

Re: This Effin' comeback...
Scorewise, I'd say pretty often. Possession wise, not as much (offense only). I wouldn't call it rare, but it's not that frequent either. The defense on the other hand, is pretty routine. You see teams put up a 90.3 DRTG over full games several times a week.

You could tell that once the game was up for grabs, the Cavs played Mark Sanchez- like...just too jittery, and we took advantage of their mistakes. But Shane Battier's play was almost as big as Bron's play, as we'll as Ray's playing the passing lanes. Ray's starting to gamble more when he knows he has Birdman to protect him getting beat

This is a special team we're watching this year. Hope they can cap it off with a title. Unbelievable stuff every night.

Miami had no business winning this game, absolutely crazy what LeBron did in the 2nd half.

Re: This Effin' comeback...
I'm shocked, happy, pissed and ashamed all at the same time. I called it a trap game before the tip but I definitely didn't see us only having 34 frigin points at the end of the second while Cleveland had 55. It's a bad habit that the Heat are getting back into. We had no rhythm at all in the first half....
But enough of the negatives and on to the positives. How f'n lucky are we to have this team? I feel like we're so spoiled but as fans we know this team can do better so we have to point out areas where they can improve...
I've been following this team since the first round of the playoffs between Miami & New Orleans back in 2004 and got to witness one of the most epic comebacks in my life in 06. Then after the glory days of course we had the dark days. 15 win season I stopped caring for basketball and not only was that tough watching as a fan, but I was also going through some really dark times in my personal life around that time with tons of loses to people I knew, etc. Then we come back strong & Wade made me fall in love with this team all over again but only to get put out by the punk a## Hawks and hearing their fake fans talk s##t to me every time I take my yearly June vacation to Atlanta And my heart took beating shot when Zo My Favorite Heat player of all time announced that he was retiring
When we were scheduled to play Boston in the first round of 2010 I was talking mad s##t, I could've swore we were going to beat them But of course J.O. was about as useful as Kwame Brown out there and Beasley couldn't guard anybody smh. My hate for the Celtics and KG most notably came after his cheap elbow to Q. I've never liked Paul Pierce, he was somewhat tolerable before KG & Ray came but I just didn't like him for some reason. And the flop he pulled which lead to that whole confrontation is why I hate the Celtics so much. To be honest I never followed Bosh in Toronto and didn't know that much about him. I feel bad because I was ignoring him when LeBron came to South Beach but I started to understand more about Bosh and what type of player he is. When he plays with passion it just makes this team unbeatable along with LeBron & Wade doing their thing.
Sorry to type that long story but it's basically summing up why we should enjoy these times man. I know my post count is ridiculously large for only being here since January but since my friends don't share the same passion for sports like I do I feel like this is the only place where I can express myself. I remember we were having a discussion about join dates on the other thread & how some people never went through dark times. It sucks and I can't blame people for not wanting to be apart of it but we've got to enjoy the moment. I know it makes people sound like a old man when I hear people say this but it's nothing more than a FACT...
@CeCeySay The same thing happened to me smh. I was scheduled to get off at 9pm and I begged my General Manager to let me off at that time but the bastard kept me on until 9:29 Lucky for me tho that I got to catch the whole first half
and the finals 3 minutes of the game.

@dreamchaser....not too long a story when you describe your love for a team, especially our team. I enjoy hearing folks' stories. And since I'm a Heat fan outside of Miami (NY), it's hard for me to share my stories without envy. I went through the hard times in the late '90's with my friends as Knick fans, but nowadays no one here wants to talk about basketball, so I get to live here...speak on

This is the most impressive part of our run.... That we're winning games we shouldn't be winning. Even before the streak. Getting out rebounded by 20+ vs Minny, road games we should have lost, but we pull out....so much more gratifying. In 2010, when we were winning so many games, they were by blow outs. But with these games, and we have to credit Spo, although his play calling after time outs could be better (they have have gotten better as of late), has really developed this offense into an unselfishness that we only see from superior-type of college basketball programs where everyone contributes. It's beautiful to watch. From being a die hard Riley fan, I've payed more attention to defense for all these years, but the way we play our offense, wade and Bron moving without the ball, I gush watching our offense.

Re: This Effin' comeback...
Though this comeback (and the one against Boston) was unreal, let's not forget that these are two teams we should have dominated from the bounce. It's a testament to this team's mental fortitude to make such runs after being down by 20-30 points, but it's not exactly coming against tough competition. I'm both very proud and a little disappointed in this Heat team.

Re: This Effin' comeback...
When u have a team that doesn't care about the regular season, but feels obligated to chase history, u end up getting bizarre performances like last night. First half looked like a typical, mailed-in loss, like we've seen so many times from this team. Second half looked like someone reminded them at halftime that they had a historic streak to protect. Incongruent performances like that can be both exciting and frustrating. However, at the end of the day, a win is a win is a win. I'm gonna be at tomorrow's game. LeBron ton roulet! PEACE.

^ It's probably because of what Spo said in halftime
