Re: Why has Tyrus Thomas been a bust?
first off he is really really really stupid he has the basketball IQ of a doorknob. its almost painful how bad he is sometimes. then he got hurt last year in stole the only thing he had going for himself that was his athleticism. dumb ass mixed with declining athleticism is not a good combo.

Re: Why has Tyrus Thomas been a bust?
No effort, needed to stay in college at least 1 more year. Terrible shot selection. You can't make it on athletic ability alone. Hes a PF on a team practically getting frontcourt players off of craigslist and he still can't get on the floor.

i honestly 100% no exagerration think if Brittney Griner spent a year or 2 working on a set mid range shot she'd be just as good as current Tyrus Thomas. that guys lost his only redeeming value, athleticism. iirc the last time he tried to do a no step dunk under the basket like the one Griner did the other night he got stuffed by the rim.
Tyrus is listed at 225, Griner at 207 but with how anorexic and diseased he's looked in the last couple years it wouldnt surprise me if they were the same weight and Griner actually has better length than him. the only thing Tyrus is good for is hitting that wide open 15 foot mid range shot

Re: #WorkHarder: The Tyrus Thomas Thread
I came aboard as a Bobcat fan when Tyrus came over in the trade a few seasons ago, he was a good player with all the potential in the world but he just does NOT have it all upstairs. Piss poor attitude, lack of focus, lack of desire, lack of intellect are just some of the qualities this guy has.
I was a big fan of J.R Rider back in the day, and it was the same thing, a player who had even more ability and skill with even more athleticism, but bad attitude and personal off court issues ruined his career. I can't defend these guys when they are blessed to make millions of dollars all for playing a game while many of us grind it out for meager earnings and we pay hard earned money to see these talented athletes play a sport.
I may not have agreed with Paul Silas getting ready to beat the living snot out of Tyrus, but I understand it. These guys have become spoiled and really don't appreciate what's been given to them. Silas is old school and came from a time when they had to go all out for every dime they made and guys like Tyrus, Rider, and others act like knuckleheads and act like everything should be given to them. Tyrus will go down as another player who couldve been a really good player but he never lived up to expectations due to his character flaws and bad attitude.

His regression (basketball wise and physically) from the year he was traded to now is just startling. The the year Chicago was in the playoffs in the classic series with Boston, Tyrus was on the verge of having a monster breakout season, then he came to Charlotte and Larry Brown left and he's just been awful for the most part ever since. He used to have a monster dunk and block every game, now it's like he can't do a simple one handed dunk to save his life. A poster from the Chicago Bulls board said he thinks Tyrus might have an addiction problem, I know his and BG's wife got beat down at a club a few months ago, maybe there's something into that, but something is definitely wrong with this guy.

I wouldn't mind him letting himself go and gaining like 30 pounds.

Re: #WorkHarder: The Tyrus Thomas Thread
Simmons is familiar with the whole Tyrus Thomas thing.
I need my atrocious contracts to rot away on someone's salary cap like a bad piece of fruit. So it's bitterly disappointing that the following teams have their amnesties left for the following players: the Lakers (Metta World Amnesty Clause: two years, $15 million); Miami (Mike Miller: three years, $18.6 million);7 Milwaukee (Drew Gooden: three years, $20.2 million); Toronto (Linas Kleiza: two years, $9.2 million); Sacramento (John Salmons: two years, $15.7 million); and especially Charlotte (Tyrus Thomas: three years, $26.1 million), who pulled off the Double Atrocious GM Whammy of (a) trading a future lottery pick for an overrated player, and (b) giving that overrated player a ludicrous extension that they'd eventually have to amnesty.
(You realize that Chicago has Charlotte's first-rounder, and that it's top-12 protected in 2013, top-10 protected in 2014, top-eight protected in 2015 and completely unprotected in 2016 … right?)
(And you realize this happened because Charlotte decided, "We need to acquire Ty Thomas and give him a big fat deal, because once you give a perpetually underachieving NBA talent gobs of guaranteed money over a prolonged period of time, it always works out" … right?)
(Are we sure MJ isn't still working for the Bulls? I'm just asking.)

No mention of Jeff Green's four-year, $36 million deal? I still can't understand that one.
Humble yourself.

Not to insinuate any admiration for that dynamic duo, but Elgin Baylor and his coaching carousel feel slighted. Isaiah and his Knick Cronies are thinking of filing an official protest.

What a disgrace..MJ should get in this guys face and tell him if we dress him he needs to show some interest or we will dress him and leave him in the locker room. THE fans are p''ssed. If he's on the bench play him some minutes at 3 backing up MKG..Tell him to shoot 12-15 foot jumpers and drive to basket. He's so thin he can't play 4 anymore..

Sometimes you have to just bite the bullet. As a basketball player he might be a total waste of talent, but apparently the guys love him. As long as we have to pay him, and he is good for chemistry we gotta do what we gotta do.

Could end up working out nicely for the Celtics

TT is laughing at us. Did you see him Singing and dancing during timeouts on the bench during last night Toronto's game?

Rather him act like that than continually bounce a ball during practice while telling our head coach to "humble" himself.
