Royce White Leaves Rio Grande Valley Vipers

Post#1 » by texasholdem » Thu Mar 21, 2013 4:26 pm

Royce White announced via Twitter that he is leaving the Rio Grande Valley Vipers.

White did not offer an explanation, but later said he was returning to Houston, not the Rockets.

White appeared in 12 games for the Vipers and averaged 9.6 points and 5.6 rebounds, making 41.6 percent of his shots and 62 percent of his free throws.

This is why I laugh when people praise Fred Hoiberg. Great recruiter, bad coach. He sold all his "NBA Contacts" on this guy... and that has killed Fred's cred... around the league. Royce goes to the liberal media so he can talk about mental illness and have some leverage against the league. And as a liberal myself let me tell you... Royce White is so far away from being an NBA player right now... and that assessment is based on what he has(n't) done on the court. At some point you gotta STFU and play basketball.

Trade or waive... pick your poison.

Imagine if we took zeller to eventually be our backup center

Or Jenkins to be our eventual sharp shooter off the bench

Or Taylor to replace Garcia and delfino next year (maybe)

Or Ezeli to be a project center in a few years

Or Teague to be a project pg and Beverly's backup:)

Royce White ✔ @Highway_30

Have been advised by our team physician it is most logical I be in Houston the remainder of the season. Thank you @rgvvipers for having me.

This is just the beginning...

Funny thing is he came to RGV out of shape so why would they think he would workout from now to the next season.

That so true... and who the hell is this team physician?
anyone else think White just paid this guy under the table to give him a "doctors excuse" to skip work.

This guy is slick, now he is getting paid to chill at home.

I'm on to you White.

Putting aside Royce White's anxiety issues, I think one thing is certain---

He was really unimpressive during his stint in the D-League.

I truly believe that Royce thought he would just show up out of nowhere and dominate everyone.

He started to realized how poorly he was playing, and took off.

While it hasn't been announced yet, I am almost certain he will say he left because the team couldn't meet the conditions required to treat his disorder, or something related to the matter.

He will most assuredly use this as a crutch to excuse his awful play...but the reality is, he just couldn't get it done. His status as a "sleeper pick" is disseminating quickly. He just did not perform.

Everyone can go on about this and that, but let's face it...Royce White is rapidly turning into a bust.

I take medication for anxiety disorder myself, so I do feel his pain. However, there comes a point in time when one must draw the line between "medically unable to play" and "just not talented enough."

For White's sake, I hope he turns things around. For now, it doesn't look like he will.

Rapidly turning into a bust?

He's in the running for worst first round pick in franchise history and that's saying a lot considering this franchise drafted these guys:

Eddie Griffin?
Bryce Drew?
Mirsad Turkcan?
Rodrick Rhodes?
John Turner?
Dave Jamerson?
Derrick Cheivous?
Buck Johnson?
Steve Harris?

Who?

This guy isn't worth anyone's time. Even without the anxiety issue, he looks like he's a 4 that's:
- Undersized
- Can't finish in the paint
- Terrible shooter
- Ball dominant
- Turnover prone
- Nothing special defensively.

He has ball-handling and passing skills, a role no one would utilize him in at this level because of all of his other deficiencies.

Well, regardless. I'm not even a rockets fan, but the roster is SO solid! I wish you guys the best.

Time to offload this clown. Let him bash the Rockets in the media all he wants. No one will remember him after 1 year. Pay him out, and waive his sorry ass. He can bitch all he likes, pretty soon, no one will care or listen.

I have had some anxiety issues etc. I found a lot of mine were job related, so I resigned, and got another job where I am much happier. If being a Pro Basketballer is such a burden, man up an quit. Go get a more normal job. Oh that's right, no one in their right minds would hire him anyway after this debacle. Definately the most useless Faux Rockets player ever. F&$K him off.

I wana make a twitter to tell him he's a douchebag because I don't think he realizes he is

Most douchebags I know (especially ones in college station) know most people think they're douchebags

Royce obviously doesn't know he is one yet

He gets too much positive reinforcement from his favorite source...twitter....if he looked outside of it he would know he's hated for the most part
