I really like Biz but his brick hands look even worse in person. Somebody tipped the rebound his way one time and he pounded it into the floor like a dribble and it looked so easy to grab.

ive been playing pick up ball again for the past 5 weeks (once a week for 2 hours - after not touching a basketball for 8 months). i have dropped ONE pass in 5 weeks. it was a bounce pass throws at my ankles and it went through my hands. i should have caught it. there was another pass that hit me in the back, but i didnt see it because i was looking to set a back pick. again, my bad, i was cutting through the lane and i should have kept my eye on the ball. so lets make that two dropped passes.

His arms are so long that it just takes that long for the message to catch to travel from his brain to his hands.

Agreed on his performance this season. We can hope about next season but I wouldn't bet much on him. Incidentally, Tyrus has been written off by alot of people here yet he is more productive than Biyombo.![]()

THIS IS UNHEARD OF.
You misunderstood. I think its just comical how people remain starry eyed about a player that's showed no real development on the floor but yet write off as garbage a player that hasn't hit his potential but performs better than the younger player. I've heard all the excuses as to why Biyombo sucks. Some people just seem wildly inconsistent in their player judgements.

*That* statement is ridiculous.

Biyombo is "way better" than Tyrus Thomas? That is laughable. Thomas is a crap role player at best but Biyombo is right there with him.

Re: The Bismack Biyombo Thread
It could be argued that Biyombo hasn't improved at all to this season from last. I don't have much of a problem with him looking like a bust as a #7 overall pick that was a project to begin with just as long as he doesn't come looking for a pay raise until he's shown some obvious improvements. This also make me a little skeptical of Cho's ability to scout talent but drafting any player outside of the top 3 is usually a hit or miss anyway.

Re: The Bismack Biyombo Thread
If you think that Biz hasn't improved from last year you obviously haven't been watching the games. He was AWFUL last year. All he could do was block shots. He's still very raw but theres been improvement in the following areas: pick setting, defensive rotations, back to the basket game, and jump shooting.
I actually watched most of the games last season and almost all of the games this year. He's definitely showed improvement. You can argue he hasn't improved enough, but I wouldn't. He's twenty years old for christ sake.
You guess can go ahead and write off Biz but he's smart and a hardworker. I'm in no position to bet against guys who meet that criteria.
He may never live up to the 7th pick, but in 5 years he'll still be playing and having an impact somewhere.

As a Bucks fans who watches a lot of Bobcat games (I like some of the players like Biyombo), he's definitely a better player than last year. One of his biggest problem is his hands...he fumbles too many passes. But that, like all the other areas of the game, can be improved. Asik is a big-time fumbler too, but is improving. Biyombo's youth and determination are on his side.

Along with Biz's age you have to remember that he hadn't played a lot of high level basketball. Most young players coming into the nba are blown away by the speed of the nba game. That would certainly explain his fumbles, but that too should improve once he fully adjusts to the speed of nba athletes. Then his own athletisim just might take center stage.

I agree. A #7 pick certainly has risk. I was a bit shocked by the pick when I was watching the draft but I didn't yell at the TV like I did when they picked Morrison at # or Augustin while Lopez was still on the board. I'm lamenting that Biyombo hasn't progressed this year but still hopeful he will break out next season.
