Re: Uhh, Nets are actually good
The Nets will be a playoff team, but i'm pretty certain they can't win it all with this squad. Their payroll is going to be absolutely massive, which means they wont be able to receive players through or participate in sign & trades, just having the mini-MLE to work with.
Nobody will want Joe Johnson's contract or Gerald Wallace's at that price and Brook Lopez is not a max player.
So they're stuck and King may be looking for a new job in 2 years, although right now he looks like the smartest guy in the room.
The Mavs, on the other hand, may actually field a better roster THIS year and are certainly primed to add players and salary down the line.

Good deal.
So..
If the Nets do not land Dwight and make the playoffs, I win.
If the Nets do not land Dwight and miss the playoffs, you win.
If the Nets do get Dwight neither of us win or lose.
Signature bet
Sig must be worn the duration of the playoffs.
Sig must be appropriate and in good taste.
Deal?
Looks good, I'm down. I hope you find Skip Bayless in "good taste", because he's going to be in your sig next post-season.
Nets are officially a playoff team Mr.Unbiased Fan!
http://espn.go.com/nba/standings
I shall have your sig in time ready for the playoffs.

BTW.. some terrible analysis/agendas all throughout this thread after reading back through it.

Nahhh... just Google'd it.
I knew I had a bet with A_U_F and just noticed today the Nets officially clinched a playoff berth.

They are an 8/9 seed. Top teams will be Heat, knicks, Celts and Pacers

You can add this gem with the other ones that included "Nets wont sellout", "its gonna be like jersey", "knicks second home arena"
Gotta love Knick fans. Sports wouldn't be the same without them.

Well, it's not like he's completely off-base here. He's right with some of his predictions and wrong with others. Gotta love how you lump this statement as a generalization though...

they dont need to do a sign and trade, they already have humphries signed as an expiring 12M contract, so they can take back 15M in a trade... something like hump + picks/filler for say Nene, would work. wizards would clear his 52 million remaining off the books. just 1 example
second, how is brook lopez not worth 15M per? He is like 3rd or 4th in the NBA in
PER at 24 years old.

Then you obviously haven't seen what D-Rose does to D-Will.
On both ends of the court.

Old D-Rose ( and it wasn't THAT bad ) ,we haven't seen how he will look after his injury yet. He might return to full but thats not a given .

what does he do to him? Head to head its pretty much even, and if anything, dwill has outplayed him in 4 of the 7 matchups:
http://www.basketball-reference.com/pla ... 2=rosede01
Dwill - 18 pts, 10 assits on 49.5% shooting
Rose - 20 pts, 5 assists, on 48.8% shooting

Dude, you're quoting a post that was from back in July 2012. Pay attention lol.
At that time, Lopez was still recovering from being out with a stress fracture and we had no idea how well he was going to recover.
Also, Humphries wasn't signed until July 17th, which is after this guy made his post.
