He's been clowned heavily for blowing up that title team from 2011 then missing on Deron/Dwight. Kurt Rambis called it a disgrace and something the Lakers never did.

Dirk is now saying he doesn't want to be on a rebuilding team that isn't in the playoffs and cannot build a championship team on hope.

So, with all that been said, why are you telling someone how to run their team? He's acting just as childish with Kidd by not wanting to retire his Mavs jersey because he picked the Knicks.

He's just annoying now.

not really sure how you can knock the guy. he took a team that was a doormat for years and made them a perrenial contender and won a championship.

as far as breaking up a winner, im not sure that team is repeating if brought back. kidd isnt going to be around long and they got as much as they could out of chandler. letting him go was smart. they have a lot of flexibility... its not just dwight, you have guys like love and kryie coming up in 2014. he is ahead of the curve rebuilding that team.

he went for deron and missed, instead of panicking he went with short term alternatives. he missed on dwight, so did we. again he went short term with kaman.

I agree that he did mess up big time by not retaining the championship core and make improvements to it. He could have kept the best pieces like Chandler, and improved on some role players with FA signings. Instead he waited on Dwight and Deron, and seems to have failed with both. In the process, it seems that he has alienated Dirk too who isn't happy being part of a team that cant even make the playoffs. Now while its still possible for Dallas to get Dwight, it looks rather unlikely and even then, Dwight has been nowhere near the same impact player that he was. The cap space has to go somewhere so in the end, he might as well end up overpaying someone like Josh Smith or Millsap.

I like Cuban despite all of his remarks about the team. I do think he made a mistake letting Chandler and company go so easily. Chandler at 14 mil is still incredible value that could have netted him young players and/or picks if he ever decided to move him.

His post game quotes.

PJ then responded with a direct shot at him which was surprising.

his post game quotes didint state that williams or dwight wasnt the first option. just that not being locked into him at the max isnt the worst thing in the world and could work out better... which isnt super off base, depending what they do with their money the next 2 offseaons

I used to like Cuban but honestly I am over him. And this thing with Deron has nothing to do with it. In fact...I didnt find fault in what he said this time. His comments to me read more about a prediction of operating under the new CBA than a slight of Deron Williams.

And he may be right. But also factor in that our two teams are going in different directions. We spent 5 years rebuilding already and felt a pressure to do something now heading into Brooklyn. Slow build wasnt an option. Now, the big spending? Well, this might be as good as it gets. Mid level lottery seed, low draft picks, no cap space to sign anyone, over the apron cant do S&T's of consequence. But we made our choice. After 12 years and delivering a title Dallas has no pressure to make that type of signing. They made their calls, went as far as they wanted...that's fine. They have the right to strip it down if they want to and rebuild...so no beef here about his comments.

For me with Cuban, its the whole Cuban arrogance in general. I am just over it. Its not entertaining anymore. No desire to see him do a cameo in a TV show or movie. I want to puke every time I see a commercial of him on his reality show...he comes off like a class A douche monkey and I REFUSE to watch it ever because of him.

His antics court side are too much. Years ago he was fun. An owner for a new generation one who wore a jersey and sat with the fans instead of a suit hanging up in the box. A guy who spoke his mind and bucked the establishment. And I used to laugh him off as merely eccentric. But the act has gotten old and tired for me personally. Time to grow up.

I have no beef with how Cuban has run his team. I thought the Nix contract for Chandler was horrible...still do despite that I love Chandler. You dont give superstar money for role guys. Not ever. Had the Nix done it differently they could have been in on Deron or Dwight. Like all things they do...they are short sighted.

And Dallas? Kidd was the reason they won that title. He revived Chandler's career. And he was the X factor. Dirk was the engine...no doubt but it was last gasp from Kidd that made it all run.

No way Dallas repeats and no, they werent wrong NOT to make a dumb signing as a result of title euphoria. It wasnt the Bulls breaking up. It was a last gasp team where things clicked. Miami was still terrible...winning on talent not teamwork...and Dallas was in the right place right time.

Donnie did a fine job over the years with that team...and Cuban has been on board with the plan. Funny no one ever credit the GM there because Cuban is so visible.

You won't see me looking for him outside of basketball. Is he a douche? Yeah you could call him that, but he still is what many of us wish we could do, and that's own a basketball team. I realize he doesn't have to be a douche just because he does, but for me I can excuse that because he is a big fan.

If you don't think Kidd was a huge factor that finals, I could only say you're delusional.

Where did you learn this game? Off the back of a fruit loops box?

As usual you prove yourself to be an ignorant troll that comes here to annoy everyone. You are like a talking hemorrhoid. A giant pain in the ass that should be melted off with a topical cream.

Rich...

I cant excuse his antics anymore by saying hey he is a fan. So is Dan Gilbert. He is a douche too.

Like I said...I was once amused by Cuban. He has run his course with me that's all I am saying. Its not funny anymore.

Cuban has spent money and been a players owner. He was fun a for a while in that younger fans felt they could identify more with him than the typical wealthy older fan. He got lucky with a great franchise player in Dirk and spent the cash needed to allow his GM to build a great team for many years.

I give him lots of credit. But I am glad I dont have to watch him on a daily basis. Hey, that's just me.

Why I would prefer is for you to learn a few things before you act like you know what you are talking about. Being wrong is fine. Being cocky is fine. Its your special mix of the two that has this entire board thinking of you like an itch they cant scratch.

Yeh sure, you're a Nets fan

Ban material...along with the ultimacy or finality of your recent statements on current players...bad game or good game, I swear some of you fall into the 5yr old fan mentality or you suffer from multiple personality fan disorder...Of course there are going to be highs and lows and we are all going to react, but in the moment, wow...

Return to Brooklyn Nets
