Personally, I'd like Noel or Burke .. Starting to like Oladipo too, but if Noel's still there, you take him IMO

Really not a fan of Smart/Bazz

You guys are way too hung up on "rankings". If Burke was "ranked" higher by ESPN, nbadraft.net or DraftExpress.com then I have feeling all ya'll would be all over his nuts.

To hell with "rankings". "Rankings" got Marvin Williams taken ahead of Chris Paul.

We need to take the honest to goodness best player for us and not shoot ourselves in the foot because we didn't take the guy who's perceived value didn't match the draft pick value according to draftniks.

So you're on trade down bandwagon too?

Not really. If push comes to shove I would still take Burke with whatever pick we have. You need a trade partner to dance.

I'd be surprised if we pick Noel. Mantra of this team (from ownership) is basically "fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice shame on me." Anytime any free agent has a whiff of departing our team, they are sure to be traded (we do this every time like a jilted lover, ever since the shaq trade). for the same reason, we haven't dared take on any player with injury history since the grant hill debacle (reference -- brook lopez, andrew bynum). For the same reasons, I think we wouldnt take noel (though he might be the best pick for us). This has nothing to do with hennigan -- i think it stems from ownership....

Trey Burke is this generation's "Jameer Nelson." Mr. Nelson had a very good career without either height or athleticism.

Who cares about the guys career? Neither are championship point guards. It would be tragic to add another PG to our team that gets opponent guards licking their lips to play against.

Burke's issue is something that cant be changed, his height and lack of athleticism.

Burke has a 6'5 wingspan. That matters more than his listed height.

Most of the best PGs in the history of the league lacked athleticism.

The 2 things you're most worried about are non-issues.

Burkes defense is much much better than Meers.

His wingspan helps make up for his so called lack of height.......even though he is 6-1

The more this thing goes on, the more i see us taking Oladipo, regardless of how high our pick is. For starters, Henny has said he wants athleticism on the wings, and Oladipo is as athletic as they come. Hes a hard worker, hes high energy, hes a great defender, and he seems to be learning fast! Add to this his recent strong showings in the tourney, and i dont see how anyone can put him below McLemore, who laid a big fat egg for Kansas today (0-9 shooting), and has known character issues. not to mention he is being heralded as the next ray allen, yet cant shoot off the dribble, WTF!

The thought of having Oladipo at the 2 and Hark at the 3 is soooooo exciting. Best wing defence in the league right there.

Smart just doesnt fit this teams direction. Hes no where near athletic enough, and just lacks in so many areas. Its gotta be either Oladipo, or if not, Noel.

The problem with this draft so far seems to be that there is not yet a clear cut definitive pick in the top 5. Many drafts are so fluid in the top 10 that it could go any way.

That being said I hope we go for a PG option like Smart. Then maybe a C or SG.

Gotta love the potential of the rooks... Harkless/Harris/Nicholson/Vuc

Our non athletic, height impaired, 31 year old point guard still gets more rebounds than our 6'9" inch first round pick power forward Andrew Nicholson...sorry I couldnt resist. Love Jameer Nelson, can't stand Andrew Nicholson, I'd trade him for Andrew Declercq who's probably 40 plus years old now.

i know you're deliberately being obtuse, but jrue holiday gets more rebounds than kwame brown, raymond felton gets more than kurt thomas, and jennings/ellis get more than ayon -- it's called minutes.

just so you know, nicholson is averaging more boards than declercq did as a rookie.

what are you talking about

Nicholson averages almost twice as many rebounds as Jameer on a per minute basis

if you wanna slam Nicholson slam his defense which usually consists of just fouling his man

This Draft is not very good.

The Magic need to take the best player available.

Right now, I like Marcus Smart's upside but this is a Draft where someone is going to shoot up in the rankings.

This is going to be a weak Draft and the key here is to simply take the best player available and get someone who can be a starter.

Noel seems to be making a push in the polls on here. If I could change my vote it would be for Noel too (for the record I voted Shabazz awhile ago).

This.

I really like Oladipo too, I know draft stocks can change a ton in the next few months, but I would love to see us draft this guy, he fits in with our team way better than Noel, and I'm not convinced Smart is the PG of the future that we need. But if we draft Oladipo then we have a SG of the future that will work his butt off every day. I honestly think his draft stock is going to go through the roof before draft day, and he may be a top 5 pick. Most of the top 10 picks haven't impressed in the tourny so far.

Plus, who isn't looking forward to the Magic announcer say Oladipo's name.

How and why? Not saying you're wrong, just wondering why you think is fits way better with this team and what skills he brings to the table that makes him the future at SG. I mean, i know why I THINK he is not, especially with this team and especially with Harkless, i just like to get other peoples thoughts.
