Yes. As good as Harden was...including the game winning jumper...Asik is still probably my player of the game. He was fantastic defensively throughout. His defense on the P&R with Duncan/Parker after Parker had scored like 6 in a row was a clinic.

i'm beginning to think we should keep asik even if we get howard...i know that doesn't sound right, but i'm getting emotionally attached to this guy...just a hard worker.

Just put Howard back at his rookie position the PF...the paint would be LOCKED DOWN!!!

I think Howard will really develop his low post game with McHale tutoring him and be our PF of the future... ..i expect trob to also be much better down low this summer with Dawson, Mchale, and possibly Hakeem working with him.

I concur. Asik outrebounded Duncan and Splitter combined. It was the Rockets' defense that won this game, not the offense.

Good game by asik, bev, beard and parsons.

Parsons played 45 mins, he is completely indispensible on this team.
Asik played dpoy level d om timmy.
Bev hit some huge shot and gave us great energy when jeremy was strugglin.
Hareden is a superstar.

Now we just need a pf and we'll be set. Dmo and trob combined for only26 mins tonight. We once again closed the game with del3no at 4.

No love for the Beverley block setting up the 3?

And @ madbucky..I agree with an earlier point you made. When we are saying "iso-Harden" isn't necessarily a good strategy, it doesn't mean that Harden shouldn't have the ball in his hands...but he should be involved in more a pick and roll sort offense. Harden is at his best when he's able to get momentum to create his steps going to the basket. In a one on one situation with no pick..that's harder to do, which often results in him taking a step back three. Getting a pick by Asik to free the defender momentarily gives Harden that split second (all he needs) to slice up a defense, and is far more effective than when he's pounding the ball against a set defense.

Bright side there is that Harden wasn't around really for training camp, IIRC, and they've probably not had time during the season to work on a full barrage of plays.
Morey 2020.

poor Aaron Brooks
he was the starting PG for this team
then he got injured
went from starter to backup
now he's the 3rd string PG

Trade Lin, start Beverley. Brooks is fine as a backup.

tell bev to grow 3 inches, move brooks up as backup 2. that's a perfect small ball backcourt with offense, defense and playmaking.

I'm a lil ashamed I was gonna turn the game off right after that Parsons turnover, weak ass pass, but then
PATRICK MOTHA F**KIN BEVERLEY ended Danny Green, PATRICK MOTHA F**KIN BEVERLEY made Danny Green irrelevant!

Then White LBJ decided to show up.
This was Greatness.

Capt. Bev, White LBJ don't get much better than this!

oh but it do cause dat Beard hit a beast ass game winner!

McMastermind with that beast play!

Who mad?
Yea Timmy you mad!

Return to Houston Rockets
