But he wasn't asked. He brought it up on his own accord. He's obviously still thinking about it. I don't care if he wants that but I'm worried that's what's been driving his improved play.

There is just as much risk of that if he had said nothing. Plenty of guys don't make a lot of public comments, get paid and then slack off. Either one believes in Wall or one does not. If you don't, you let someone else pay him. It's not that complicated.
