Now all we need is our own Kevin Durant.

Beal will end up being a 8 inch shorter version :)

Wall was 1 pt shy of his season high for an entire game in just the first half.

I don't get the complaining about Wall saying he wants a max contract. What do you expect him to say?

"Uh, yeah, I don't really deserve that much money. I hope they spend that cash on someone else instead."

Who negotiates like that? I don't know what Wall will get, but I'm pretty sure nobody expected him to lowball himself.

Thought Wall shooting the 15-foot pull up jumper on that fast break was crazy. Why not drive all the way and draw the foul? Why not dish? Why take a shot you're probably going to miss?

But that was the old John Wall. The new John Wall hits that shot.

And that's what he did. Love this kid.

But he wasn't asked. He brought it up on his own accord. He's obviously still thinking about it. I don't care if he wants that but I'm worried that's what's been driving his improved play.

Man, MEM is working hard to deny Wall the ball. I don't blame 'em.

For a lot of players, that would bother me. But we've all seen how upset Wall gets after losses (not just this season but his entire career) -- the kid wants to win.

He wants the money, sure. But money and superstar play aren't mutually exclusive.

There is just as much risk of that if he had said nothing. Plenty of guys don't make a lot of public comments, get paid and then slack off. Either one believes in Wall or one does not. If you don't, you let someone else pay him. It's not that complicated.

That PnR skip pass is *deadly*. It's like the Wizards are running the pistol. :)

Amen. That's the problem with Wall. It's mental. Is he playing to prove others wrong like David Falk? Is he playing for a max contract? Is he playing to win? When he gets that max contract will he work as hard as it appears he's working now? I love what I'm seeing just think he still needs to mature. Next thing to work on is his defense.

Common now that's a poor argument. It was a half time interview... There was no need to discuss his extension. I'm just saying its a potential warning sign.

Great rotation to the corner there.

Then you don't re-sign him. A team should never hand out a big contract unless they really believe in that player. You don't believe in Wall, obviously, which may or may not be correct, but is certainly a defensible position. Someone who thinks as you do, if he were the GM, should never give Wall that money. You don't pay guys you don't trust. That's Rule 1.

You can tell how good of a defensive team Memphis is. After a halftime gameplanning session, their defense on Wall has been smothering.

It would help Wall if another perimeter player started hitting shots. Help the team, too.

I hate the term "they are playing so hard" because shouldn't every professional it their all every time the are in? Yet the NBA is full of lackluster play in March when teams are out it. No matter what people think of Randy Wittman as an X's and O's coach or his rotations, he's gotten this team to play hard against every quality team, with so little ammunition. Now if he can do that for the subpar teams.

You know the possession didn't go well when the best shot is Seraphin from 18 feet

At least Vesely is smart enough to know he can't take Jon Luer 1 on 1.
